Political activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated Thursday at Utah Valley University in Orem while on his “The American Comeback Tour,” is being honored in Las Vegas by one of the Valley’s largest casino operators.

Station Casinos used several of its casino marquees to pay homage to the Turning Point USA founder and executive director.
“In loving memory of Charlie Kirk 1993 – 2005,” the message read.
Station Casinos pushed the messages on its marquees of several properties, including Sunset Station Hotel Casino and Palace Station Hotel Casino.
The FBI continues to search for the gunman who fired a single shot from a high-powered, bolt-action rifle from a rooftop about 200 yards away. Law enforcement believes the shot was fired from atop the Losee Center at the UVU Courtyard, where Kirk was engaging with students in his traditional “Prove Me Wrong” table dialogues.
Law enforcement officials said Friday morning during a press gathering that they’ve recovered the suspected firearm and that they have photographs of the alleged gunman. They believe he is of college age.
Vegas Connection
Kirk was famous — perhaps infamous by Democrats — for crisscrossing the country visiting college campuses where he challenged students on their political ideologies, which the conservative activist believed were partially indoctrinated by liberal professors.
Kirk’s travels brought him to Las Vegas, with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ local Turning Point USA chapter hosting the GOP operative last October. At the time, Kirk was on his “Brainwashed Tour.” The event, held at the UNLV Free Speech Zone at the UNLV Student Union, was co-hosted with Tulsi Gabbard, who is now the Director of National Intelligence.
Kirk also appeared in Las Vegas during President Donald Trump’s October 2024 campaign stop at the UNLV Thomas & Mack Arena, where he encouraged Nevadans to vote for the former casino owner.
We are just 12 days from taking back this country, and it starts in Las Vegas,” Kirk said to roaring applause.
Kirk thanked those who voted early.
“When you vote and vote early, you are sending a message to the rest of the country. Do you see these early voting numbers out of Clark County? The Democrats don’t know what’s going on,” Kirk said.
Stations Leadership
It wasn’t exactly a surprise that Station Casinos were the lone casinos in Las Vegas to honor Charlie Kirk following his murder. Station Casinos and its publicly traded sister company, Red Rock Resorts, are controlled by the Frank III and Lorenzo Fertitta, two Republican loyalists who have long supported Republican candidates on the federal and state levels.
Frank and Lorenzo each gave $924,600 to the Trump 47 Committee in August 2024. While they did not contribute directly to Kirk’s Turning Point, another man who made his billions in the casino industry did.
Campaign finance records show that Steve Wynn directed $500K to Turning Point in July 2024.

All the hate for a guy who ingaged people that didn't agree and at least got them talking to each other. Someone who on hear called him a racist. Charley was not a racist he was a devout Christian that was never hateful towards anyone. Being a Christian to the left means being a hater. All the man did was try to get people to have discussions about thier differences and he showed respect to people that disagreed with him.
I do not watch cable news networks, either on the right or left, so I was unaware of who Charlie Kirk was. I am sorry he was murdered, but to ignore the things he said and to make him out to be some kind of saint is disturbing.
"Vegas Guy" way to take the comments totally out of context. You obviously are just regurgitating the talking points. Full quote from Charlie Kirk "I can't STAND the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new-age term, and it does a lot of damage. I much prefer the word compassion, and I much prefer the word sympathy. Empathy is where you try to feel someone's pain and sorrows as if they're your own. compassion allows for understanding." -Charlie Kirk Also please link any racist thing the guy ever said, please. I would love to see what you are referring to.
Charlie Kirk was a radical out-of-touch fascist who claimed gun deaths were good and necessary in order to preserve the Second Amendment (oh, the irony). He was anti-gay, anti-trans, and racist, all things which Las Vegas most definitely isn't. Empathy, as Charlie Kirk repeatedly said, is something he didn't believe in, so he and his family/friends will get none from me. I won't visit any Station Casinos now that I know the owners promote his hateful and divisive un-American rhetoric.
Did Scott remove his post? I can’t find it now
The crazy thing is that Vital Vegas, who gets a section here decided it was a good idea to trash Charlie on X. That was so bizarre. We are better than that here in Vegas. Love or hate a persons views, murder is murder for the sake of silencing is horrible and never right.
I agree. I respect Vital Vegas' freedom of speech, though I adamantly disagree with it. Rumors that he "owns" Casino.org are wholly inaccurate, and while I can't speak for the company, VV also doesn't speak for me. -Devin
