Summit Highlights

The World Cup is coming to Toronto with Canada’s first game scheduled June 12, at BMO Field. Downtown traffic is going to be a nightmare. Knowing that, SBC changed the date for the event, now called SBC Summit Canada, to May 19-21, to be held once again at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The Canadian Gaming Summit has been around for 28 years, before SBC took over three years ago.

“Through SBC Summit Canada, we are reaffirming our long-term commitment to the Canadian market with a refreshed event designed to better serve the needs of our stakeholders and keep the focus firmly on driving meaningful business opportunities for our delegates. 2026 promises to be a defining year for Canada’s gaming industry,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO of SBC.

Market Maturation

With Alberta’s regulation approaching, iGaming continuing to grow in both popularity and profitability. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be hosted in Canada, now is the ideal time to bring the industry together under the SBC Summit Canada banner, a platform built to reflect both the scale of opportunity ahead and the maturity of the market.”

SBC said the event is now entering “its next chapter”, combining international scale with a continued dedicated focus to the dynamics of the Canadian gaming marketplace. More than 3,000 senior executives from Canada’s retail and online casino, sports betting and igaming sectors are expected to attend.

The three-day event will feature over 120 speakers, a 50,000+ square foot exhibition floor. There will be top end hospitality designed to facilitate meaningful networking and business opportunities.

Focus on Alberta

Alberta’s pending market launch is the talk in Canada currently. SBC Summit Canada will very much focus on that. Bill 48 is law, but the market hasn’t launched yet, expected to be this spring or summer. It will be interesting to see if Alberta is live by the time the Summit hits, and the impact that has on the show.

Operators at the show will have ample opportunity to assess Alberta-ready solutions, compare vendors, and begin conversations about market entry. The conference programme will give operators practical insight into how Alberta’s market is expected to take shape, with sessions focused on regulation, advertising, and acquisition strategy.

Panel discussions at the show are organized into conference tracks: Leaders in Sports Betting & iGaming, Affiliates & Advertising, Leaders in Land-Based & Lottery, and Player Protection Symposium.
