- BetMGM out to better solidify its market share position in Ontario’s crowded igaming market
- Online casino scores 87% market share in Ontario in December
Evoplay, the online casino content provider, has tipped off its Canadian expansion via a new content deal with BetMGM, launching them it on Ontario’s bustling regulated igaming market.

Evoplay is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, and was founded in 2017. The company boasts a portfolio titles, led by video slots, table games, crash titles, instant games, and emphasizes mobile-first design, seamless API integration and data-driven innovation.
Canadian Expansion
Ontario continues to set a high standard for regulated online casinos, making it a market where the right partnerships truly matter,” said Evoplay’s Head of Sales Alex Malchenko. “Collaborating with BetMGM allows us to expand our reach with a portfolio that has already performed strongly across multiple areas and territories.”
Reported first at Canadian Gaming Business, Evoplay will be bringing its games to one of Ontario’s best-performing online gaming operators. The partnership with BetMGM Ontario includes the rollout of 18 Evoplay titles, with the first wave including popular titles like Hot Triple Sevens, Hot Volcano, Gold of Sirens Bonus Buy and Inner Fire Bonus Buy.
Reporting out there has BetMGM with a 22% market share in Ontario. The agency that conducts and manages the regulated market, iGaming Ontario, doesn’t release market share breakdowns for licensed igaming operators.
Online Casino Dominates
Still, BetMGM was one of the first to jump into the Ontario regulated igaming pool, and based on the company’s success there it’s no surprise then they are among the first operators to set up a pre-registration platform for the soon-to-open Alberta open, regulated market, to compete with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis’ Play Alberta platform there.
“Partnering with Evoplay adds a strong selection of proven, high-performing titles to our growing portfolio in Ontario,” said Oliver Bartlett, Vice President of Gaming at BetMGM.
The Ontario set a record with $9.5 billion in total wagers across casino, sports and poker sites during December 2025. Online casino dominates the regulated Ontario igaming market – sitting at 87% market share in terms of total wagers as of December 2025.
CGA’s Burns’ Op-Ed Piece on Advertising
Canadian Gaming President & CEO Paul Burns has written an op ed in National Newswatch where he weighs in on Bill S-211, which calls for the enactment of a national framework to regulate sports betting advertising in Canada, setting new government-driven national standards to what the Bill says will minimize risks and harms resulting from sports betting advertising.
Burns is among the leading industry voices who oppose Bill S-211, currently at second reading in the Canadian House of Commons, after having already passed through the Senate. In the article Burns laid out why Canada’s existing provincial regulatory framework is already strong, responsive and accountable. The Bill if passed will just add another layer of unnecessary overlap and confusion. Current advertising data showing gaming represents approximately 2% of total TV ad volume, Burns wrote.
And last month the CGA, in consultation with industry stakeholders and Ad Standards, released a new Code for Responsible Gaming Advertising, a guide that the CGA said establishes clear principles so that gaming advertising is responsible and protects consumers, building further confidence in the industry and its practices.
The code applies to all CGA members and other signatories, all advertising of gambling, gaming or betting, all media formats, including digital, social, broadcast, print and out-of-home advertising communicated to Canadians.
