Confirmed: Station Casinos to Take Over Treasure Island’s Sportsbook

As we first shared back in Feb. 2025, Station Casinos will take over operations of the sportsbook at Treasure Island.

Do you care about this news? Probably not.

Are we sharing it because it’s a reminder of how modest we are despite running circles around our town’s alleged “paper of record,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal? Probably. Modest and petty are not mutually exclusive.

The TI sportsbook could use a little love.

The change of operator of TI’s sportsbook is up for review by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB).

The Nevada Gaming Control Board gives recommendations to the Nevada Gaming Commission, then that body rubber stamps things.

So, it’s expected the change at TI will be approved.

Before we move on, we need to taunt the Review-Journal one more time with our Tweet from several months ago. You’d be annoyed, too, if somebody stole your work for years without attribution. Yes, it’s work. How dare you.

You can see the Gaming Control Board agenda online (.pdf).

Station Casinos is “NP Red Rock LLC” on the agenda.

The application in question is “to receive a percentage of gaming revenue from the race book and sports pool, including off-track pari-mutuel race wagering, operated by NP Red Rock LLC.”

Which, in layperson terms, means, “No idea. We’re just here to break news. The ‘experts’ can follow up with the details, they need something to talk about because sports are profoundly boring.”

That discomfort you’re experiencing is a little something called the truth.

Station Casinos’ sportsbooks fall under the STN Sports umbrella.

Please visit their Web site so we don’t have to “read” anything or do “research” or whatever the kids are calling it now.

TI expanded its sportsbook back in 2020, it’s called the Golden Circle Sportsbook and Bar.

The plug was pulled on the Treasure Island mobile sports betting app around that time, and as far as we know, it hasn’t been replaced with anything. That’s obviously a missed opportunity given how popular mobile sports betting has become while ruining America.

We aren’t entirely sure when Station Casinos will take over the TI sportsbook, but we guarantee there are a hell-ton of the aforementioned sports experts, including the sloppy seconds enthusiasts at the Las Vegas Review-Journal who will let us know the specifics when they’re available.

We’re curious to see how visible STN Sports and Station Casinos are at TI. They aren’t really competition, per se. Station is largely a locals casino company.

Circa operates several sportsbooks in “competing” casinos, including Silverton and Tuscany, under its Circa Sports brand.

We have exhausted our capacity for talking about sports and sportsbooks, so you’re on your own from here on out.

Update (4/3/25): Following the publication of our story, Station Casinos passed along this statement: “Pending Nevada Gaming Control Board and Commission approval, Station Casinos, the industry leader in retail sportsbooks and mobile betting options, is thrilled to announce a partnership with Treasure Island Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, bringing its best-in-the-business technology and customer service to the Las Vegas Strip with an STN Sportsbook experience and mobile account sign up location. We look forward to sharing more information following the hearing.”

Statements gonna statement, but basically, we ruined their surprise a little.
