  • A touch of NYC is coming to a Corner Store in somewhere in Vegas
  • Flavor Flav raises Canes — and spirits — for local Vegas kids

The Corner Store is coming to Las Vegas direct from New York City’s SoHo. The buzzy American restaurant opened in September 2024 at 475 West Broadway, quickly becoming one of Manhattan’s hardest‑to‑book tables thanks to its upscale martinis, caviar-topped lobster rolls, and celebrity clientele. (Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Gigi Hadid were among the early guests cementing its “clubstaurant” rep.)

According to Observer.com, Catch Hospitality Group, Eugene Remm, and Tilman Fertitta have signed the deal to open a second one that’s double the size (150 seats v. 75) in a Las Vegas luxury resort sometime next year.

Exactly which resort is still a mystery. But since Remm and Fertitta both own Catch Las Vegas, which opened at Aria in 2018 — and since Fertitta is the largest individual shareholder of Wynn Resorts at 12.3% — our money is on either an MGM Resorts property or the Wynn.

Flav Raises Holiday Spirits

Local Vegas celeb Flavor Flav made his second annual appearance on Monday at Raising Cane’s at 2231 E. Fremont Street. The rap legend was on hand to give away 100 children’s bikes and helmets to Communities in Schools of Nevada, a nonprofit that helps underserved students stay in school and build communities that support them.

Flav began an endorsement deal with the chicken-finger chain in April 2025, starring in a nationwide marketing campaign and working a promotional shift at its flagship Vegas location at the Showcase Mall.

The Public Enemy star very briefly operated two chicken joints of his own in Vegas: Flavor Flav’s House of Flavor from March through September of 2012, and Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Vinny’s Pizza from December 2018 through January 2019.

Dining Ins & Outs

Illy Caffé opened recently at the Cosmopolitan. The Trieste, Italy-based coffeehouse brand, with its signature espresso and pastries, took over the space formerly occupied by the Cosmo-owned Va Bene Caffé, where window seating provides a stunning view of the Strip.

Sorellina Cucina Italiana and Emilio’s Contemporary Mexican Kitchen will both close on December 23, after only nine months. The restaurants — which occupy adjacent suites at 9742 W. Maule Ave. in southwest Las Vegas — are both owned by young restaurateurs Lin Jerome and Alexandria Lourdes, who announced on Instagram that “the current economic landscape and the realities we’re facing have made it clear that we simply don’t have the bandwidth to continue, even though our hearts desperately want to.”

The Bend in southwest Las Vegas just added two tenants: Butcher and Thief, a budget-conscious steakhouse from Eleven Hospitality Group, and Hollywood’s St Felix dinner and nightlife venue.
