Scotter Clark is accused of stabbing a man in the head and chest before running over a woman in his pickup truck. The altercation took place after Clark allegedly approached the woman in a parking lot in Tulsa, Okla and solicited her for sex.

When the male victim, who was accompanying the woman, confronted Clark, police say the poker player pulled a knife.

A witness was able to get the license plate on Clark’s blue pickup truck after it allegedly hit the female victim. Clark was arrested shortly afterward.

Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries, according to Tulsa Police.

Clark admitted to being in the area at the time of the incident but claimed the altercation arose after someone broke into his truck, police said.

He has been charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and is currently confined to the Tulsa Municipal Jail.

Banned from Caesars Properties

Clark has $500K in gross tournament earnings since 2015 and last year won a WSOP Circuit ring with a first-place finish in the “Big O” tournament at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant.

Clark is not playing in this year’s WSOP because he was trespassed from all Caesars properties in 2022. He claimed to Poker.org at the time that this was because Caesars security objected to a pair of prop pirate guns he had brought to that year’s WSOP as part of his Captain Jack costume.

Drug Trafficking, Mafia-Linked Past

Clark began his tournament career in 2015. He missed out on the poker boom of the mid-2000s because he was serving time in a federal prison. In 2001, he was sentenced to 15 years for drug trafficking and money laundering.

Before his days of masquerading as a fictional pirate at the poker tables, he operated a table dancing business, Pleasures Entertainment, and a limousine rental company, Elegant Limousines, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Federal prosecutors also accused him of dabbling in loan sharking, illegal sports betting, and prostitution, although he was not ultimately charged with those crimes.

According to court documents, Clark established links to New York’s Lucchese Crime Family to secure a steady supply of cocaine and marijuana and to use their muscle for debt collection.

BigDogPoker Boss

After his release, Clark became one of the operators of gray-market online poker site BigDogPoker.net. Multiple users accused the site of banning or freezing the accounts of winning players and holding their balances hostage.

The site ultimately folded in early 2021. Despite initial skepticism, reports from the poker community indicate over 90% of players were eventually paid.
