- The Masters tees off this Thursday
- Scottie Scheffler is again the betting favorite, though his odds are a bit longer in 2026
- Sports betting remains illegal in Georgia, but that isn’t stopping prediction markets
Scottie Scheffler, the world’s best golfer, hasn’t played a competitive round in nearly a month. That’s for an understandable reason, as the Schefflers welcomed their second son, Remy, just last week.

It isn’t only Scheffler’s time away that has his Masters odds a bit longer in 2026 than a year ago.
Scottie hasn’t posted a top-five finish since the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. A most surprising culprit — his iron game and not the flat stick — has been to blame. Scheffler led the PGA Tour in iron play in each of the past three seasons. In 2026, he ranks 82nd.
Last year, Scheffler’s odds rivaled those of Tiger Woods in his prime. Before the 2025 Masters, Scheffler was just +400, implied odds of 20%, of winning his third green jacket and second in a row. This year, Scheffler arrives in Augusta with odds of +495 on DraftKings. FanDuel has him even longer at +550. A $100 winning bet on those lines would net $495 and $550.
However, with the smallest major field in golf, and Scheffler statistically remaining among the leaders in strokes gained, scoring, and putting, the world’s No. 1 remains the betting front-runner.
Georgia remains its prohibition on sports betting, though several prediction markets are offering contracts involving the Masters. DraftKings Predictions and FanDuel Predicts are two such exchanges.
Masters Uncertainty
Defending Masters champion Rory McIlroy, who completed the career Grand Slam a year ago by donning the green jacket in a playoff against friend Justin Rose, is another popular bet. But there are many unanswered questions surrounding McIlroy, too.
McIlroy, the second-ranked player on the planet, has battled a back flare-up. He withdrew in pain at the Arnold Palmer Invitational before a ho-hum performance at The Players.
McIlroy arrives at the Masters with unknown form. There’s also speculation that his emotional return to where he finally won the major that evaded him for so many years could see the Northern Irishman struggle to muster the same attention to form needed for a second Masters title and sixth major.
The unknowns are why DraftKings and FanDuel have McIlroy, respectively, at +1175 and +1130. McIlroy’s odds are longer than Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau, both around +1000.
Masters Prop Bets
Sportsbooks have an array of bets on the 2026 Masters. The odds of a winner coming from LIV Golf are at +440. The LIV roster includes DeChambeau, Rahm, Cameron Smith, Bubba Watson, Charl Schwartzel, Carlos Ortiz, Tom McKibbin, Dustin Johnson, Tyrrell Hatton, and Sergio Garcia.
The over/under for the 72-hole winning score is 275.5, with the lowest round of the tournament at 64.5. Conditions for this week are expected to be firm and fast, which would make the overs attractive.
The odds favor a hole-in-one at -125.
