  • Due to politics and the weak CAD, 23-24% fewer Canadians visited Las Vegas last year
  • Derek Stevens — owner of Circa, the Golden Gate, and the D downtown — wants to compensate for the financial component
  • As part of his “At Par” promo, CA$1 equals US$1 across various gaming, hotel, and beverage transactions through August 31

Though a whopping 33% of Canadians say they’d think less of close friends or family members who traveled to the US, according to a new Abacus poll, politics isn’t the only reason 23%-24% fewer Canadians visited Las Vegas in 2025 than in the previous year. The Canadian dollar (CAD) also fell 2% vs. the US dollar (USD) in the same period, finishing the year worth roughly 73 American cents. The two currencies haven’t been at parity since 2013.

Derek Stevens, owner of Circa, Golden Gate, and the D, is offering to even the financial gap with a unique promotion called “At Par,” in which CA$1 will be treated as US$1 across select gaming, hotel, and beverage offerings at his three downtown Las Vegas properties.

Under the program, eligible Canadian guests receive US$1 in value for every CA$1 spent, regardless of daily exchange rates. The initiative – good through Aug. 31, 2026 — not only provides a financial incentive, but it also eliminates conversion stress.

“Canada has always been a part of my story, so I feel a deep connection to our Canadian visitors here in Las Vegas,” said Stevens. “My father went to the University of Toronto, and I was raised in Grosse Pointe, Mich., where our home looked straight across the Detroit River toward Windsor.

“Growing up, we could literally hear Canada — especially during Blue Jays matchups — and that stayed with me.”

Here are the offers, all of which are only available to guests showing a valid Canadian passport or government-issued ID:

  • Gaming: Canadian guests can redeem up to CA$500 in slot promotional play, treated at full US dollar value, by visiting Club One at Circa, the D, or Golden Gate.
  • Beverage: At select bars — including BarCanada at the D as well as Overhang at Circa and Bar Prohibition! at Golden Gate — eligible Canadian guests may redeem At Par beverage pricing multiple times per visit.
  • Hotel: Canadian guests staying at Circa, the D, or Golden Gate will receive the At Par rate at check-in, paying the same number shown in US dollars, charged directly in Canadian dollars, with no exchange rate applied.

Canadians don’t need to stay at Circa, the D, or Golden Gate to participate in the gaming or beverage offers.

At Par is about honoring that connection and removing unnecessary barriers, making sure Canadian visitors feel just as welcome downtown as they always have, without worrying about exchange rates, fine print, or doing the math at the cage,” Stevens said

Launching ahead of peak summer travel and a packed international sports calendar, At Par underscores downtown Las Vegas’ continued focus on value-driven experiences.
