- The Powerball jackpot bypassed players again on Wednesday night
- The Powerball jackpot has gone 44 drawings without a hit
No. That’s the short answer. No ticket matched Powerball’s Wednesday night drawing that came with a $1.25 billion annuitized jackpot and one-time cash option of $572.1 million.

Powerball’s top prize hasn’t been hit since Sept. 6, when two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize. Last night’s winning numbers were 25, 33, 53, 62, 66, and red Powerball 17.
Powerball is next drawn on Saturday, Dec. 20, just five days before Christmas. It will mark the 45th drawing in the current jackpot run. It comes with an advertised jackpot of $1.5 billion, with the cash option at $686.5 million.
If the jackpot doesn’t hit, the game will next be drawn on Monday, Dec. 22. If the top prize evades players again, the jackpot would roll over to Christmas Eve, which would no doubt have families gathered around the television at 10:59 pm ET to see if the most amazing present comes their way.
This jackpot is set to deliver the ultimate windfall. The jackpot grows with every $2 ticket sold, and a portion of each ticket supports local public programs and services. We encourage everyone to have fun and play responsibly,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO.
The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot are one in 292.2 million.
Wednesday Winners
No one hit the jackpot last night, but there were still 3,305,638 tickets that won some sort of prize.
There were eight tickets that missed the jackpot by the narrowest of margins, as they identified all five white balls but missed the Powerball. Six of those plays won $1 million each, with the two others doubling their prize to $2 million with the optional $1 add-on Power Play.
While the Power Play landed on 4X last night, the match five prize is limited to a 2X bonus. The $2 million winning plays were sold in Arizona and Massachusetts. The $1 million winners were sold in Connecticut, New York (3), Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
There were 72 tickets that matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball for $50K prizes. Another 14 of the match four + Powerball had the Power Play to quadruple their payouts to $200K each.
The bulk of the wins, almost 2.63 million tickets, won $7 or less by matching the Powerball, the Powerball and a white ball, the Powerball and two white balls, or three white balls.
Seventh-Largest Jackpot in US History
At $1.5 billion, Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is the fifth-largest in Powerball history and the seventh-richest in the history of the United States.
