- Payton likely coach of the year favourite in NFL after big win over the Chiefs
- Allen back in the MVP conversation after six TDs in win over the Bucs
- Eagles now Super Bowl betting favourites after Week 11
Most of the NFL talk today was about the supposed end of the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty, after falling rather ignominiously to the Denver Broncos 22-19 in a later afternoon game yesterday, to fall to 5-5 on the season. The Chiefs are currently out of a playoff spot.

QB Patrick Mahomes finished 29/45, for 276 yards, one TD, one pick. TE Travis Kelce had nine catches for 91 yards and a TD.
Denver is a very good team – 9-2, first in the AFC West. Tremendous defence there. Huge confidence among the players in head coach Sean Payton. According to the ESPN Football Power Index, the Broncos have a projected win/loss of 12.3-4.7. That’s fourth best, after the Eagles (12.4-4.6), the Rams (12.3-4.6), and the Patriots (12.3-4.7).
Eagles Impress
“The aura is gone in Kansas City,” ESPN NFL analyst Damien Woody said this morning. He doesn’t think teams fear the Chiefs anymore.
I personally would never sleep on the Chiefs. I just put a bet down on them to not only make the playoffs but win the Super Bowl (+1050 at Caesars Sportsbook).
“The Chiefs–Broncos matchup swung back to the book, as action was heavily tilted toward Kansas City,” said Joey Feazel, Head of Football at Caesars Sportsbook.
Bettors don’t want to quit the Chiefs.
Chiefs-Broncos Outlook Good for Books
Feazel said overall it was a balanced day between bettors and the book.
“Things started in the customers’ favor with the Dolphins taking advantage of late mistakes by the Commanders in Madrid (winning 16-13),” he said. “The afternoon slate was dominated by Bills–Buccaneers, which proved strong for bettors, especially with favorable SGP outcomes. In the later afternoon, the 49ers’ big win leaned toward the bettors, while the Rams winning without covering made it more of a split result.”
Bears versus Vikings (Bears 19-17 win) and the aforementioned Chiefs-Broncos were the best games for the book. Bucs-Bills, Bengals-Steelers (34-12 Steelers) and 49ers-Cards (41-22, 49ers over the Cards) were the best games for bettors.
According to the FanDuel Canada trading team on NFL Week 11 (All data is from Ontario only): Most Bet Markets were Josh Jacobs, Anytime Touchdown Scorer, Saquon Barkley, Anytime Touchdown Scorer, and Jahmyr Gibbs, Anytime Touchdown Scorer.
Most bet Moneylines: Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Allen’s Dominance
The Eagles, impressive last night in holding down the Detroit Lions, winning 16-9, are now Super Bowl Favorites at Caesars Sportsbook, at +550, followed by the Rams at +850.
Over in Buffalo, Bills’ QB Josh Allen had six touchdowns in his team’s 44-32 home win over Tampa Bay, more than the Chargers’ Justin Herbert, Mahomes, the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson, the Broncos’ Bo Nix, the Rams’ Matthew Stafford, the Seahawks’ Sam Darnold, and the Buc’s Baker Mayfield combined yesterday.
So has Allen moved up in MVP betting after propping a Bills’ team up on his back? At DraftKings he has moved up – now at +475, behind Patriots’ QB Drake Maye at +185 and Rams QB Matthew Stafford at +150. Allen is the force of the league if you have to face him in Buffalo.
