High Roller Ferris Wheel Officially Ready for Its Cabins

The world’s tallest observation wheel, the High Roller at The Linq in Las Vegas, has reached yet another milestone. The wheel has had all its supports, called “radial struts,” removed.

Removing the struts means the High Roller is ready to move to its next stage, the installation of 28 passenger cabins, or “pods.”

The High Roller is 550 feet tall. It looks even taller standing next to Tom Cruise.

Each passenger cabin will hold about 40 people, and each will weigh 44,000 pounds. The cabins, not the people. Unless they’ve hit a couple of Las Vegas buffets beforehand, of course.

Each cabin will have 300 feet of doubly-curved, 360-degree glass.
