EDC Drops 2022 Talent Line-Up

Electric Daisy Carnival, or EDC, a massive electronic music festival held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, has announced its 2022 line-up.

EDC happens over three days, May 20-22, 2022.

The stages at EDC include neonGARDEN, bassPOD, cosmicMEADOW, circuitGROUNDS and kineticFIELD, an obvious and deliberate attempt to trigger our OCD.

The list of acts at EDC 2022 is expansive, and we are both proud and embarrassed to say we recognize zero of the acts on day one, a small handful on day two (Alesso, David Guetta, Kaskade, Tiesto and Deadmaus) and exactly one on day three, Zedd. Mostly because he has a residency at Resorts World.

Oh, “and the most important headliner of all,” you. No, really, it’s on the poster.

Hydrate. ‘Nuff said.

In all, more than 230 acts are scheduled for EDC 2022.

It’s a music festival so fun, you have to pay for it in installments! No, really, there’s a layaway plan.

EDC, though, isn’t about how much it costs, it’s about the experience.

Last year, for example, the festival did its usual fireworks, but also presented a drone show (with 600 synchronized drones) to ensure attendees got the most from their Ecstasy dollar.

We kid because we love!

Sincerely, though, we love EDC despite never having attended. That’s largely because swarms of young, attractive, scantily-clad people wash over Las Vegas
during EDC like a tidal wave of whooty, whatever that might actually be.

EDC is famously great for hotel room occupancy, while being terrible for liquor sales. (The rumor is the kids don’t like to mix liquor with drugs.)

Las Vegas shows and casinos also take a hit during EDC, for fairly obvious reasons.

EDC draws about 450,000 people, according to organizers, but we’ve never been able to tell if that’s individual people or tickets sold. A lot of people come back all three days, so it’s a little like the way the airport says “passengers” when it means tickets or “legs.” A “passenger” is counted once when they land and once when they take off. One individual, but the bigger number of “passengers” is clearly more appealing if you’re an airport. Or a music festival.

That said, EDC is wildly popular, and Las Vegas is happy to have them, especially now that the mask mandate has been lifted and EDC can throw the kind of party that made it popular in the first place.

With travel restrictions being lifted, EDC can also get back to drawing international visitors. It’s estimated EDC attracts fans from nearly 100 countries.

EDC is more than just music this year. It’s a symbol of emerging from a two-year nightmare. People are ready to dance and fornicate together again, and Las Vegas is the ideal place to do that.

Welcome back to our fellow youths and electronic dance music fans! Learn more at the official EDC site.

Get ready for an epic cavalcade of carnival rides, interactive art, fireworks, weddings, costumed performers and people pushing buttons on laptops for surprisingly large paychecks.

Let’s dance and fornicate again! Although, not necessarily in that order.
