Carrot Top Is Coming Back to Luxor, Everybody Should Show Up
Carrot Top (Scott Thompson) is headed back to the stage at Luxor on Oct. 19, 2026, on the heels of a suicide attempt in response to an alleged extortion scheme.
It’s a lot, especially if you haven’t been paying attention to the still-unfolding saga, but the point is Thompson has been through a lot, and we need to show him some love. Scores of people have already done so online and even through the mail (yes, people still mail things), but nothing says love like ticket sales.
Thompson has been offstage since Sept. 18, 2026, when he was hospitalized amid a legal battle involving allegations of extortion. We’ve spoken to a contact close to Thompson, and they confirm he’s doing much better, is in good spirits and appears ready to take to the stage again, despite our urging to take more time off.
We’ve reported in depth about what’s transpired recently, and our original story is getting updates as more information becomes available from national news outlets, because our local journalists generally suck. We say “generally” so at media events, we can say to journalists, “We said generally! We didn’t mean you!”
Anyway, Thompson’s attorney has accused serial asshat Brian Evans of attempting to extort the comedian using sexually explicit material. Evans denies the allegation. Of course he does, because the chickens of dumbassery (he has a long history of filing frivolous lawsuits) are coming to roost. Or something.

The important thing is Thompson isn’t retiring or ducking controversy.
If he’s coming back this soon, we trust he’s likely to address the drama head-on, and more than likely he’s going to make it hilarious.
Thompson has been a fixture at Luxor since 2005, and he’s one of those rare Strip performers who is as beloved by his fellow entertainers as he is by audiences. He’s genuinely funny, humble and has become a Vegas institution.
He’s been through a lot. So, here’s our modest proposal: Sell the place out. Not just on Oct. 19, but beyond.
If you’ve been meaning to see Carrot Top, now’s the time to do it. If you’ve seen his show before, see it again. Fill every damn seat.
The outpouring of love from Thompson’s fans has been inspiring. The hate has been minimal, even on Twitter, an acknowledged cesspool of WTF.
That’s because people seem to understand there’s always more to any story. Thompson appears to have done some stupid things in his past, but who hasn’t? The people accusing him of misconduct are highly questionable individuals with zero credibility, and their allegations are paper-thin. (“He sent me a dirty video that one time! I demand $500,000!”) Their motivations are obvious: It’s all about money.
Now, we have the opportunity to let Carrot Top know we’re with him. He can be whoever he’s comfortable with being.
Weasels looking for a payday don’t get to deprive us of an icon.
Sometimes applause is just applause. Sometimes it’s a way of telling somebody you’re glad they’re still here.
