Before A.I. Unalives Us All, Use It to Make the Most of Your Casino Offers

Yes, it’s nuts that casinos continue to send mailers. You know, through the mail. As they did in olden times. Most casinos swear by mailers because gamblers love having something to hold in their hands showing free play, dining credits, room offers and kitchen storage set giveaways.

If you gamble at all, it’s likely you get stacks of casino mailers constantly. It’s chaos. The fact is if you aren’t using A.I. to organize your mailers, you could be leaving money on the table.

Casinos have mastered the art of getting us through their doors to extract every cent they can. Let’s use technology to get a little value back, shan’t we?

All these mailers arrived on one day. Casinos clearly enjoy our company.

You know the drill. Casino mailers come and keep on coming. They accumulate into piles (if you’re that organized). Sometimes, the piles move around to show you’re serious about getting your shit together. You check the piles occasionally to weed out expired offers. You make mental notes about who’s offering what where and when. You almost immediately forget those mental notes. You realize too late you missed your chance to own a casino-branded garment bag. Curses!

Here’s the thing, though. Mailers aren’t just advertising. Mailers include items of actual value. You earned these perks with your play. (SPOILER ALERT.) You may have even lost money playing. Casino perks are a way of soothing some of that pain, but not if you don’t take advantage of them.

Keeping track of multiple, overlapping offers can be a nightmare, though. A.I. can help wrangle the mailer madness and turn all your offers into a game plan.

Here’s what we did recently: We took pics of our current batch of mailers with our smartphone, uploaded the images to ChatGPT and gave the instruction, “Figure this shit out.”

We are a noted A.I. expert, so feel free to copy and paste that prompt into ChatGPT. (It doesn’t have to be ChatGPT, that’s just the one we use.)

The result: ChatGPT figured our shit out. In roughly 30 seconds.

Our ChatGPT prompt: “Create an image that is a self-portrait of you. The story is about how you manage casino mailers, so a photo of you is needed.” ChatGPT assured us this woman is 28-32 years old, so don’t give us that look.

A.I. not only extracts the text from the images, once it does, it can then analyze the data and spit it out in a form of your choosing. It’s a miracle, really.

We had offers from Red Rock, Virgin, Rampart and Silverton. Some were date-specific. Some were good for a broader window. Some repeated. Some involved free play, others involved restaurant credit or “free” gifts. Yes, “free” is in quotation marks. Nothing’s free when it involves casinos. They’re giving you a portion of your losses back to keep you playing. Please stay focused.

We had A.I. sort everything by date and casino, figure out what was expiring first and suggest ways to combine multiple offers into the same visit. The value of all the goodies was around $670, so not a trivial amount.

If you let $50 in free play expire because you forgot about it, you left $50 worth of value on the table. And $50 in free play could be worth much more if you win. Winning happens, too, we hear. Unconfirmed.

If you had a $25 dining credit, a $40 free-play offer and a gift available at the same casino on the same day and made three separate trips because you didn’t realize they overlapped, you suffered a mailer dysfunction. It happens to the best of us.

A.I. can look at the whole mailer trainwreck and unwreck it. It can produce more than a schedule. It can give you a strategy.

If you want to get more detailed with the prompt, go for it: “Extract every casino offer from these images. For each offer, list the casino, benefit, dollar value if stated, valid dates, expiration date, redemption hours, restrictions and anything I have to do to qualify.”

A.I. can manipulate the information any way you’d like. It’s like a free personal assistant that doesn’t take smoke breaks, doesn’t call in sick or file harassment lawsuits.

The next prompt: “Combine all the offers into a chronological schedule. Prioritize offers that expire soon, group offers at the same casino when they can be redeemed during one visit and flag any conflicts or offers that require separate visits.”

Or just say, “Create the most efficient redemption strategy possible.”

A.I. can turn your data into whatever format works for you. We just have it create a list in chronological order for quick reference on our phone. You can see what ChatGPT spit out in our recent Tweet.

A.I. can also create an Excel spreadsheet or a printable PDF calendar or a calendar file you can import into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, if you want to get fancy.

We honestly don’t know everything it can do, which is part of the fun: discovery.

One asterisk: Before you trash your physical mailers (an incredibly freeing act, by the way), remember A.I. can misread a date or tiny print, so check the information for accuracy before heading out to play.

Yes, humanity will soon be extinct thanks to A.I., blah blah blah, but until we are, let’s exploit the technology to get the most out of casino mailers and the cavalcade of rewards within.

You earned them. Now, get out there and stick it to The Man.
