Uncle Paulie’s, Yu Or Mi Sushi and Vesta Coffee Get the Ax at Durango Casino

Durango Casino is tweaking its line-up of dining options with word the hit-and-miss Uncle Paulie’s has closed, Yu Or Mi Sushi is also set to close Nov. 10, 2026.

These concepts have operated in Durango’s food court, dubbed Eat Your Heart Out, since the off-Strip resort opened Dec. 5, 2023. Durango has done very well for Station Casinos, but not everything has performed equally well.

Also closing are Durango’s two Vesta Coffee Roasters locations. They shutter on Nov. 10, 2026.

Uncle Paulie’s is pushing up pickles. Or something.

We feel a little guilty about the demise of Paulie’s, because we had a smaller kerfuffle during our most recent visit. Basically, we placed an order and the whole crew just left. Red flag much?

No, we are not saying our Tweet was solely responsible for the closure of Uncle Paulie’s. Solely.

We sort of knew Uncle Paulie’s goose was cooked when they removed the chicken parm sandwich from the menu.

Until Station Casinos announces a replacement for Paulie’s, the space will host “a series of pop-up experiences.” So, the first brothel inside a casino! (Unconfirmed.)

We never tried Yu Or Mi Sushi, mostly because eating sushi has always seemed like something you’d be forced to do during a fraternity hazing.

Station will announce a Yu Or Me Sushi replacement at a later date.

We’re excited to see something not sushi in the Yu Or Mi Sushi space.

We have also never had coffee, mostly because it smells like the bottom of a garbage dumpster outside a butthole factory.

The Vesta Coffee Roasters at Durango are in the food court and in the hotel lobby. Both out as of Nov. 10.

Adorable doesn’t always equal profitable.

Per Durango, “These updates come as Durango continues work on its north-side expansion, which will introduce an expanded food hall, a state-of-the-art bowling venue, Moonshine Flats, luxury movie theaters and more. Additionally, Eat Your Heart Out recently welcomed the famed Los Angeles staple, Villa’s Tacos, further broadening its diverse lineup of dining options.”

Villa’s Tacos replaced Fiorella Pasta Bar, a travesty, all due respect.

What really needs replacing in the food court is Prince St. Pizza, possibly the worst “pizza” in America. That’s right, we used quotation marks, so you know it’s bad. Word they’re wooing downtown casinos for a new location is truly distressing.

We are your vital source for all things food court, food hall, culinary hall, dining hall, market hall, food collective, culinary collective, dining collective, food marketplace, culinary marketplace, dining marketplace, public market, gourmet market, artisan market, food emporium, culinary emporium, dining pavilion, culinary pavilion, dining gallery, food gallery, gastronomic hall, epicurean hall and commissary.

Stay tuned, as there’s always something going on in Vegas. Which is the only reason we still get an embarrassingly large paycheck, so keep ’em coming.
