  • Circus Buffet fails to impress
  • Bellagio Fountain Club brings the big guns for F1 weekend

TastingTable.com has named “The Worst-Rated Buffet On The Las Vegas Strip.” And the result will surprise no one who has tried the fatty fried chicken and cold mashed potatoes at the Circus Buffet at Circus Circus.

The buffet scored an average 2 out of 5 stars on Yelp and 2.9 stars on Google thanks to reviews pointing out the discrepancy between its price and its food.

“While no one should be expecting unlimited Michelin Star-worthy options, it certainly seems that this buffet has failed to meet even mediocre standards,” TastingTable.com wrote.

That having been said, the Circus Buffet’s price ($24.95 per person for brunch or dinner) is less than half what you can expect pay at four of the other five remaining buffets on the Strip: The Bacchanal at Caesars ($63.99-$91.99), the Buffet at Bellagio ($54.99-$74.99), Wicked Spoon at the Cosmo ($47-$54), and the Buffet at Wynn ($59.99-$79.99).

The fifth, however, offers a much better bang for the buck at a shockingly competitive $32.99 per person for weekday brunch and $43.99 for weekend brunch. And the MGM Grand Buffet rates 3.4 stars on Yelp, 3.7 on Google.

The Bellagio Fountain Club promises another culinary grand prix during this year’s F1 race.

Among the big-name chefs returning to cater to wealthy race fans on November 20-22 will be José Andrés, Wolfgang Puck, Mario Carbone, David Chang, Michael Mina, Masaharu Morimoto, Olivia Tiedemann, Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Joining them for the first time this year will be chefs Tom Colicchio, Antonia Lofaso, and Brooke Williamson.

Tickets for the Bellagio Fountain Club are still available, starting at $8,054.91, from the event’s website.

Dining Ins & Outs

Master Kim’s BBQ will open its first casino location next spring. (Image: Trip Advisor)

Master Kim’s Korean BBQ will open at Palace Station next spring. Opening in the space occupied by Tailgate Social sports bar until it closes on August 31, it will be the local eatery’s fourth Las Vegas location, its first in a casino.

Only a couple of weeks after the forced closure of Hogs & Heifers, the rowdy biker bar has found a new location to deploy its motorcycle kickstand. That will be 307-319 Main Street, across from the Plaza at the site of the former Little Hotel Rooming House. H&H was forced to desert the North 3rd Street location it occupied since 2005 by its landlord, the Downtown Brand, which refused to renew its lease due to excessive noise. No reopening date has been announced.

Broadacres Marketplace, a popular locals’ destination for Latin American street food, will reopen on Friday, August 1, resuming its normal weekend schedule. Broadacres closed on June 21, citing “fear and uncertainty at its highest level ever among the immigrant community in Las Vegas” over potential ICE raids.

Health to Pay

The Southern Nevada Health District temporarily closed Kagari Ramen after a routine inspection on July 24. The off-strip restaurant, located at 9560 W. Skye Canyon Park Dr., #160, received a demerit score of 37 for, among other violations, unsanitary conditions, improper cooking, and temperature issues. A second inspection was conducted on July 29, and the restaurant received an A with zero demerits, allowing it to reopen.
