The driver who crashed her Jeep Cherokee through the exterior wall of a popular Las Vegas bar last week was unlicensed and had no insurance, her registration was expired, and she refused field sobriety and blood tests. That’s according to her arrest report, which also notes that her car contained an open container of alcohol and a glass pipe with narcotics residue.

Margerette Williams, 32, now faces charges including DUI for crashing into Dino’s Lounge just before 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, Las Vegas police said.
Williams — who was treated for minor injuries at UMC hospital — told officers her car was rear-ended by another vehicle, sending it spinning into the building at 1516 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
However, several eyewitnesses said that Williams drove directly into Dino’s at approximately 60 mph. In addition, there was no damage to the rear of the Cherokee.
Altered State
Williams appeared to be in an altered state at the time of her arrest, police said. Noting her bloodshot and watery eyes, the arresting officer wrote in his report that “she appeared to be confused and had a blank stare and kept asking the same questions over and over again as if she was not comprehending the answers I was providing her.”
At one point, according to the officer, Williams asked “if her mother was okay,” though she was driving alone.
Her state of mind may have been due to one of the two items found in her vehicle. According to the arrest report, an opened container of alcohol was found on the front passenger floorboard. It was a BuzzBall, a pre-mixed cocktail — packaged in a colorful, spherical container — containing 15% alcohol by volume.
In addition, a “small glass pipe with narcotics residue” was found in the back seat of the vehicle.
Dino’s, a beloved neighborhood dive bar that opened in 1962, made the news last September, when Coldplay’s Chris Martin showed up to prank its patrons during a karaoke session.
That unexpected visit was more fun.
Dino’s closed for more than a week for repairs but expects to reopen on Thursday, Aug. 14.
