This week, the Boardwalk casino resort announced the return of Atlantic City’s largest food crawl, this year paired with the “Ultimate Happy Hour.” Or, shall we say hours.

Tropicana, operated by Caesars Entertainment, is tasking guests to complete a 14-stop in-resort happy hour and food crawl. Participants collect stamps at each destination “as they explore culinary offerings — from Asian bites to Southern BBQ — with the opportunity to unlock exciting prizes along the way.” A release from the casino tells customers that “the more stops you make, the better the rewards.”

All 14 restaurants and bars are within the Tropicana complex. They are Carmine’s, A’Dam Good Sports Bar & Grill, Broadway Burger Bar, Casa Taco & Tequila Bar, Chelsea Five Gastropub, Chickie’s & Pete’s, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, Firewaters Saloon, Gin Rickey’s, il Verdi, Ossu Asian Tavern, The Palm, P.F. Chang’s, and Wild Home Smokehouse & Tavern.

Responsible Hopping

The Tropicana Atlantic City promotional release on the annual food and bar crawl says those who visit each location — and spend at least $10 — will qualify for a free midweek hotel room. To participate, a guest must obtain their “passport” at the Caesars Rewards Center or any participating restaurant.

As a patron meets the $10 spending threshold, each restaurant provides its unique stamp on the guest’s passport. Guests will collect a T-shirt and a pint glass along their journeys.

Only Caesars Rewards members can embark on the Tropicana bar crawl. Tropicana’s fine print on the promotion encourages guests to “celebrate responsibly.”

The 14-stop journey isn’t to be done in one night, or even one weekend. Instead, Tropicana says passport holders have from now until July 2026 to complete the tour of indulging at its 14 restaurants and bars and racking up a bar tab of at least $140.

The participating eateries and watering holes have varying happy hours. They begin as early as noon and end as late as 11 pm.

Tropicana Remains an Atlantic City Success

Tropicana plays a key role in Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City operations. In fact, it’s the company’s most profitable asset in New Jersey.

In 2024, Tropicana posted a gross operating profit of more than $82.4 million. That accounted for 40.4% of Caesars’ $203.8 million made from operating three properties in town. Caesars Atlantic City reported an operating profit of $57.2 million, and Harrah’s in the Marina District profited almost $64.2 million.

Tropicana is considered an affordable mid-tier casino destination for many Atlantic City gamblers. In 2024, its 2,364 hotel rooms went for an average nightly rate of $155. Tropicana’s hotel occupancy rate was 67.5%, fourth-highest in the nine casino town.

Along with its many restaurants and bars, Tropicana Atlantic City’s 119,900-square-foot casino floor has approximately 1,600 slot machines, 100 live-dealer table games, and a Caesars Sportsbook.
