UPDATE: Poker Pro Jordan Cristos was sentenced Wednesday to 14 to 48 months in prison for threatening two high-profile figures in separate incidents: World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska and the family court judge overseeing his custody dispute with an ex-girlfriend.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Cristos, who remains in custody, previously entered an Alford plea, acknowledging that enough evidence existed to convict him without admitting guilt. Prosecutors had agreed to a 180-day sentence as part of the deal. However, a last-minute twist complicated the sentencing.
According to the R-J, prosecutor Laura Rose told the court that Cristos had violated a no-contact order earlier that very morning by sending her an email titled “Wrongfully Incarcerated” with his family court documents attached. Rose explained that Cristos had previously been ordered not to contact her in connection with a domestic violence case.
Cristos’ attorney, Deputy Public Defender Cherae Muije disputed the claim, suggesting Cristos had asked someone else to forward an email to her that was previously sent to the prosecutor.
Judge Trujillo cited Cristos’ history of violating court orders in her decision to impose a longer sentence. “Even when you had help and you had the required counseling,” she said, “if something doesn’t go your way … you continue to harass people.”
EARLIER: Poker pro Jordan Cristos has $3,768,447 in career tournament earnings (per the Hendon Mob website) and a 2013 World Poker Tour (WPT) Legends of Poker title. But this week, he was just another defendant appearing in court remotely from Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

Cristos, 38, appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court in connection with alleged threats he made against World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska from November 2024 through February 2025.
According to court documents obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Cristos was angry over the termination of his WPT online account and repeatedly demanded reinstatement in exchange for deleting negative social media posts.
“You are effectively sentencing all of your staff to an Open season,” Cristos wrote in a January 2025 email. “If you do not accept my offer, then you are going to meet the legend and the stalker in more ways than one.”
No plea was entered — as the October 21 appearance was only a status check — and Cristos is due back in court on November 18 to face charges of coercion with use of a deadly weapon and communicating intent to commit a violent act.
Why He’s Behind Bars
Cristos was arrested on June 4, and has been held without bond since, due to an unrelated felony threat case involving Family Court Judge Regina McConnell, who presided over his custody dispute with ex-girlfriend Sarah Tolagson.
On March 18, Cristos posted a public Instagram message that included Judge McConnell’s home address, a Google Street View image of her residence, and the text: “This corrupt judge stole my kids and will pay the ultimate price. I hope someone ends her before she destroys another family. Justice is coming — and it won’t be pretty.”
Cristos pleaded guilty on September 15 to felony attempted stalking via electronic communication (reduced from full felony stalking). He is expected to receive 180 days in jail at his October 27 sentencing, with 146 days credit for time served.
Poker Community Threats
Cristos’ antisocial behavior is well-known in poker circles.
In September 2023, he sent threatening messages on X (formerly Twitter) to Shaun Deeb, a six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. The messages followed Deeb’s criticism of Cristos’ habitual tanking (slow-playing) and referenced 2020 domestic violence allegations.
“One more word from you and you’ll end up at the bottom of the ocean with cement shoes,” Cristos wrote, adding: “I know where you live in Vegas. Keep talking and I’ll make sure you never play another hand.”
Additionally, poker journalist Jennifer Newell tweeted on September 6, 2023:
“Jordan is a known stalker, has harassed numerous women in poker, and regularly threatens to harm or kill people. If he has his sights set on you, go to the police, please.”
Cristos is reportedly banned from several Las Vegas poker rooms — including the Wynn, Bellagio, and Aria — due to excessive tanking and threatening behavior.
