  • Seahawks’ running back Walker generating lots of prop betting action
  • Patriots QB Drake Maye says he is over shoulder issues
  • Seahawks heavy betting favourites for Super Bowl

The shoulder issue that kept New England Patriots’ quarterback Drake Maye out of practice last week has improved enough to a point where the second-year QB is now practising fully with the team in the lead up to Super Bowl LX.

“I am feeling great,” he told reporters Monday. “I threw a good bit, as much as I would in a normal practice. I am looking forward to getting back out there Wednesday and Thursday for practice again, and Friday, just a normal week of prep.”

There’s naturally a ton of eyes on Maye – currently +650 to win the NFL regular season MVP, second to Rams QB Matthew Stafford (-900). Maye was fourth in the NFL this passing in passing yards (4,394), third in TDs (31), first in QBR (77.1), first in passer rating (113.5), first in completion percentage (72.o).

The American Gaming Association predicts that Americans will bet a record $1.76 billion on Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. (6:30 p.m. EST kickoff) and prop betting is an increasing part of that.

Increasing Dominance of Prop Betting

“Prop betting is always a major driver of Super Bowl handle, and this year we’re offering our largest prop betting menu ever to give bettors as many opportunities as possible to get involved,” said Joey Feazel, Head of Football at Caesars Sportsbook.

Same Game Parlays are expected to steal the spotlight once again, just as they have throughout the season. Bettors love building touchdown‑scorer SGPs that deliver higher payouts than many of the traditional two-way props available for the Super Bowl. We anticipate a heavy wave of SGP action throughout the week, continuing right up until kickoff on Sunday afternoon.”

One-Sided Betting On Seattle

The health of Maye aside, betting trends have been heavily one-sided so far, with a significant amount of betting action on the Seahawks to control the game.

Current ML at Caesars is Seahawks -230, Patriots +191, with the spread Seahawks -4.5 (-112). FanDuel has the ML Seattle -235, New England +194, with the spread also Seahawks -4.5.

“We’re also seeing plenty of wagers on the under (45.5), which aligns with Seattle’s reputation for a strong, commanding defense,” said Feazel. “However, we anticipate a late surge of Patriots moneyline bets as many bettors will view New England at +190 as strong value.”
