- Stabbing at Lucky Lil’s Casino leaves man with shoulder, wrist wounds.
- Kyhl Lorenzen and Summer Overgaauw charged with attempted deliberate homicide.
- Overgaauw previously tied to 2022 case involving Tyler Netto shooting.
Two people have been charged with attempted deliberate homicide after an argument inside Lucky Lil’s Casino in Bozeman, Mont., turned nasty on Saturday night, local CBS affiliate KBZK reports.

Kyhl Lorenzen, 24, of Emigrant, Mont., and Summer Overgaauw were arrested shortly after police responded to reports of a stabbing at the casino. There they found a man suffering knife wounds to his shoulder and wrist.
Police said they reviewed the venue’s security video, which showed Lorenzen in a verbal altercation with the victim. The stabbing was not caught on camera, but the footage did show a minivan driving at high speed toward the victim, who despite his injuries was able to jump out of the way.
Connection to 2022 Murder Case
Investigators later determined the driver to be Summer Overgaauw, a friend of Lorenzen. Overgaauw is connected to an unrelated 2022 homicide case, in which her ex-boyfriend Tyler Netto was shot dead by a man named Skyler Griebel.
Netto, who had previously been living with Overgaauw, texted a sheriff’s deputy shortly before he was killed, claiming that Griebel and Overgaauw were involved in illegal drug activity and that Griebel had threatened him with violence.
After Netto and a friend arrived at Overgaauw’s home on February 8, 2022, Griebel and Netto had a confrontation that escalated into the fatal shooting. Griebel was found guilty of deliberate homicide in October 2025 and awaits sentencing.
On Monday, Overgaauw’s bail was set at $50K and Lorenzen’s at $75K. Police seized 22 grams of meth from Lorenzen during the investigation.
This is the second violent crime reported at a casino in the area in the past week. On December 28, a man was arrested on suspicion of robbing and strangling a gambler in a restroom at the Magic Diamond Casino in Belgrade, about 10 miles west of Bozeman.
‘No Rise in Crime’
Montana’s casinos, outside of tribal reservations, are as modest as they are numerous – usually bars or taverns, sometimes with a liquor store attached, that offer live card games, sports-themed pull tab games, and video gambling machines.
There are some 1,400 licensed gambling operators in the state, which is perhaps why reports of robberies and shootings at Montana casinos have appeared frequently in the media.
However, Captain Michael Van Meter of the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement last week that there hadn’t been a major increase in crime in and around casinos. He added that gamblers should remain vigilant, nevertheless.
“Anytime you’re handling significant quantities of cash in public, be very judicious about how you carry yourself, your belongings, and your valuables,” he said.
