- While predicting the outcome of a UFC match on Saturday night, Minty Bets had nothing to say for 15 seconds
- Apparently, the betting analyst’s teleprompter got stuck during ESPN‘s live coverage
- Social media did what social media does best
A cringe-inducing blunder made during ESPN’s UFC Vegas 107 coverage on Saturday has generated much more social media chatter than the fight results.

While trying to articulate her pick for Todorovic v. Reese in the middleweight main card, sports betting analyst Minty Bets stumbled over her words for nearly 15 seconds.
The gaffe — in which she repeated the exact same sentence three times, seeming to forget her touted bet before pivoting to a second-round finish pick — was indicative of a teleprompter failing to advance as intended.
You wonder why this total is heavily juiced to the under at 1.5 rounds, but I’ve got to find something similar for a better price,” Bets told the viewing audience. “Excuse me, I have got to find something similar for a better price. Oof, I am sorry… I have got to find something similar for a better price, and I am betting on…”
By this point, Bets covered her blushing face in embarrassment before continuing…
“Oh my goodness, sorry,” she continued. “Yeah, I am betting on a second-round finish because everyone is loving a first-round finish here. I am betting a round two finish at +250. Brendon (Fitzgerald), back to you.”

At least judging from the widespread criticism and viral mockery it evoked, the blunder seems to have seriously eroded viewer trust in ESPN’s gambling coverage.
“I think Minty Bets needs a software update,” tweeted @SupberbeastCraig.
“When being a scripted plant goes wrong,” commented X user @PauloPantsChero.
“I’m glad people get exposed for not putting in the work,” commented X user @dracodegen.
“wait….minty bets isn’t a true handicapper?” added @danglebangle3. “ive been taking her advice for months.”
“Next you’re gonna tell me her last name isn’t really bets,” added @JoeW420.
Bets has also provided betting insight and predictions to Yahoo Sports, FanDuel, and WagerTalk. She gained popularity through social media by posting picks and analysis, starting with MLB and NFL content, on Twitter around 2019.
Bets, who refuses to reveal her real name, has claimed to have owned and operated a wedding floral design company in her hometown of Las Vegas before transitioning to her current career.
Bets’ glitch wasn’t the only one at UFC Vegas 107. The event, which took place Saturday at the UFC Apex, was supposed to be headlined by a women’s flyweight bout between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber. However, the main event was canceled at the last minute due to a medical issue involving Barber, who reportedly suffered a seizure just minutes before the walkouts.
As a result, the lightweight bout between Mateusz Gamrot and Ľudovít Klein became the de facto main event.
