Lamar Odom was arrested in Las Vegas early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to TMZ and police records. Officers also cited the 46-year-old former NBA forward for two traffic violations: driving more than 41 miles per hour over the posted speed limit and failing to maintain his lane during the stop.

As of the latest update, Odom remains in custody.

Odom’s history with substance use has been extensively documented over the past decade. He was previously arrested for DUI in 2013, an incident that marked the beginning of a highly public period of personal struggle.

In October 2015, he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch South, a brothel owned at the time by Dennis Hof in Nye County, Nev., which has legalized prostitution. He was taken to Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital in critical condition after suffering a life‑threatening overdose.

The medical emergency left him comatose and requiring intensive treatment for organ failure and multiple strokes. His then‑wife, Khloe Kardashian, remained at the hospital throughout his recovery, though the couple ultimately finalized their divorce after Odom relapsed in 2016.

Despite those setbacks, the two-time NBA champ later committed himself to sobriety and has spoken publicly about his recovery.

In recent years, he has been involved in several rehabilitation centers and has used his platform to encourage others battling addiction. He has also offered support to public figures facing similar challenges, including Bam Margera of Jackass fame, emphasizing the importance of long‑term treatment and accountability.

Odom played 14 seasons in the NBA, reportedly earning $114 million for the time he spent with the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, the Miami Heat, and the Dallas Mavericks. He won two championships with the Lakers and earned the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2011.

His athletic achievements, combined with his highly public personal struggles, have kept him a prominent figure in sports and entertainment.
