- Fanatics Sportsbook is doling out $1 million to its sports bettors
- The FanCash disbursement comes after the online sportsbook suffered a disruption
- New York bettors were most impacted
Fanatics Sportsbook is handing out $1 million to sports bettors after a service interruption took its online sports betting platform offline for many hours.

Fanatics, the sports apparel merchandiser that has invested heavily in the ultra-competitive sports betting industry dominated by FanDuel and DraftKings, is a privately held company controlled by billionaire Michael Rubin. On Wednesday afternoon, Fanatics Sportsbook began experiencing service issues that primarily impacted New York, but customer complaints were heard in other states, including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
In a social media post, Fanatics Sportsbook said, “Due to a fiber optic cable being cut, service is temporarily disrupted for New York customers.” The online sportsbook said cash outs and deposits/withdrawals were unavailable, but all bets placed before the issue arose would “be settled as usual.”
In a subsequent post, Fanatics said a “third party” had cut the fiber optic line, which is the backbone of the sportsbook’s operation in New York.
Fanatics Sportsbook provided few details about how the fiber optic cable was cut. Specifics regarding whether the cord was purposely cut in what would possibly be a criminal act or if an accident caused the laceration were not made known.
FanCash Compensation
Fanatics Sportsbook, in an attempt to retain its critical market share in New York, the country’s richest sports betting state, said it would be compensating impacted bettors.
Things aren’t always in our control, but we want to make it right. We’ll be giving out $1 million in FanCash across all impacted users and a 50% Profit Boost Token for customers in New York. Thanks for riding with us,” the message read.
FanCash is Fanatics’ rewards program. Similar to a credit card giving cash back, Fanatics rewards its loyal customers and bettors with FanCash on all eligible purchases and bets.
FanCash can be used to purchase Fanatics merch and apparel but cannot be applied to shipping fees or taxes. FanCash can also be redeemed for Bonus Bets on the Fanatics Sportsbook & Casino.
The FanCash back on bets depends on the odds. For bets placed on odds of -110 or shorter, the bettor receives just .01% to 1% of the bet back in FanCash. For odds of +6000 or longer, 10% of the bet is returned via FanCash.

This company is a joke. Stick with the bigger boys like FD DK and 365. Worst experience I’ve had
