Therapy Sold on Fremont East, Set to Reopen as Nightclub
Therapy, a longtime fixture in downtown’s Fremont East entertainment district has been sold.
According to documents submitted to the City of Las Vegas, the restaurant will become a new nightlife spot named Electric Mushroom.
It’s unknown when Therapy will close, but the news comes as a relief to the neighborhood. Oh, yeah, we said it. The place had turned into a shitshow.

Therapy opened on Fremont Street in 2015.
Prior to Therapy, the space was a Dollar Store.
The food was fantastic.
Over time, apparently, Therapy’s restaurant and bar weren’t paying the bills, so the venue expanded into nightlife territory.
If you’ll recall, Therapy’s neighbor, Red, was a hotbed of shady activity and occasional violence. Red has since become the more respectable Discopussy, so Therapy took up where Red left off and not in a good way.
At some point, Therapy built out a dance floor and free shots and line dancing became regular offerings. And brawls, let’s not forget about those.
For the record, the only thing worse than line dancing is karaoke.
The food was still pretty good, though.

Anyway, Therapy is out and a new operator is moving in.
According to WhatNow.com, who shared the scoop about the new venue first, All Access Hospitality is the company bringing Electric Mushroom to Fremont.
There was an Electric Mushroom in Stateline, Nevada, but it closed. There’s another in Lake Tahoe, but the Web site doesn’t work.
The music is EDM, hence the “electric” in Electric Mushroom, we presume.
One of the folks involved with the new venue is Zak Jordan, who is Director of Customer Development at Clique Hospitality, a known quantity in Las Vegas nightlife. Jordan has worked with Easy’s, Gatsby’s, Bel-Aire and Wax Rabbit.
The closure of Therapy hasn’t been confirmed or announced yet, and there’s no word on when Electric Mushroom might open.
Therapy had its day, but there is a time for everything and a season for every activity. Therapy’s time has come.
