“The Party” Set to Give Guests a Quirky Dinner and Show at Cosmo

There’s something new brewing at Superfrico, one of our favorite Las Vegas restaurants.

A new dinner and show experience, “The Party,” launches July 10, 2025.

The new show comes from the demented geniuses at Spiegelworld, the folks behind “Absinthe” at Caesars, “Atomic Saloon” at Venetian and “DiscoShow” at Linq.

We removed the cigarette from her mouth because we don’t want to encourage that bullshit.

Superfrico has been without an adjoining show since “OPM” closed on Dec. 31, 2023.

What is “The Party”?

As with any Spiegelworld announcement, one has to wade through a good deal of WTF to get at what’s happening. That’s because Spiegelworld is populated by ridiculously creative people, including Lead Miscreant (sorry, “Impresario Extraordinaire”) Ross Mollison.

Here’s what the news release says about “The Party”: “A two-hour escapade into the beating heart of Vegas nightlife, ‘The Party’ at Superfrico is curated exclusively for The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and opens the door to the most outrageous, intimate and unforgettable night out the city has to offer. Is it dinner and a show? Maybe. But not as you know it. It’s a celebration of everything—birthdays, weddings, divorces, or just the thrill of being alive. Whatever your reason, ‘The Party’ is where it all happens.”

Translation: “The Party” is dinner and a show.

Spiegelworld does variety shows like nobody else and that’s what “The Party” will be. A variety show. Please keep up.

“The Party” will be set apart not only thanks to Mollison’s keen eye for extraordinary talent (he loves our blog, Twitter feed and podcast), the show will take place in a new space at Cosmopolitan, the Blue Room.

Here’s how it’s described by Spiegelworld, “Superfrico is already hailed as no ordinary restaurant. ‘The Party’ goes even deeper inside, five nights a week, beginning July 10, in the brand-new Blue Room—a lush, boutique showroom and dining hideaway that can only be described as ‘Superfrico Royale.’ The room showcases the artwork of Mark Ogge, Spiegelworld’s artist of record, and will feature his Circus Automaton—a specially commissioned, mechanical theatre which is a joy to witness. This is an intimate experience drenched in one-of-a-kind artistry, designed to dazzle from floor to ceiling, plate to curtain.”

“Plate to curtain” is sort of the new “farm to table,” just with contortionists and jugglers rather than bird flu.

We expect to love it and we tend to hate everything.

We snapped this photo of Ross Mollison inside the entrance to Superfrico and we’re going to use it at every possible opportunity because we love our work.

The show will be hosted by Laurie Hagen, “a fiery force of nature with a glitter-stained resume from Berlin’s backrooms to London’s cabaret underground.”

“The Party” will feature a rotating roster of Spiegelworld performers (who they refer to as “unusualists”) and no two shows will be alike, which makes doing a review super easy (not). We encountered a similar challenge when acts were swapped out or recast in “OPM” (previously “Opium”). One “OPM” bubble blower made us openly weep, the other guy was just O.K. Same issues with “Miss Behave’s Mavericks” at Plaza. Different acts or different performers means it’s a different show. Overall, Spiegelworld has some of the best variety acts on the planet in its stable, and has far more hits than misses, so we’re optimistic.

The experience includes a three-course meal from Superfrico’s Executive Chef Mitch Emge.

Superfrico Cosmpolitan
Please make this fried mozzarella one of the courses, chef.

A prix fixe menu and show at a Strip casino for $150 is a no-brainer given that meals alone at Strip restaurants often exceed that tab. (Get the MGM Resorts credit card to avoid paying for parking. Yes, in case you missed it, Cosmopolitan is part of the MGM Resorts family now.)

“The Party” happens Wednesday to Sunday at 7:00 p.m., with only 50 seats available for each show. While popular, “OPM” was losing tens of thousands of dollars a week. This sounds like an adjustment to address that dilemma. The result is a new space, a new show and an intimate way to spend an evening laughing your ass off and enjoying some glorious Italian food.

In a town where entertainment has become a little plug-and-play, Spiegelworld is always up for trying something new and offbeat, always keeping a connection to its circus and carnie-inspired roots.

Learn more about “The Party” on the official Web site and we’re adding this to our Vegas must-do list sight unseen, just based on the strength of the brand and Ross Mollison’s tireless quest to keep birth and death from slapping together.
