Excalibur Spa Closes Permanently, Yes, Excalibur Had a Spa

Cost-cutting measures continue at Excalibur with the permanent closure of its spa.

As we reported a couple of weeks ago, Excalibur dramatically slashed its valets, doormen, bellmen and baggage handlers.

While the resort’s fitness center remains in operation, the spa part of “The Spa at Excalibur & Fitness Center,” not so much.

The spa at Excalibur never really fit the vibe.

Is this the biggest story in Las Vegas right now? No.

Does it make it look like we’re working in order to justify the absurdly generous remuneration we receive from Casino.org? Probably.

Ultimately, the spa at Excalibur got the ax for the same reason those other positions went away. Excalibur guests don’t really use these amenities all that much. They’re value-seekers. Eliminating these services boosts the margins, the goal of every public company.

Fancy places need fancy things.

On the bright side, MGM Resorts, owner of Excalibur, is a big company, so many of these folks are just being taken on by other locations within the company.

Are such cost-cutting measures expected to continue? Yes.

Are there other spa options nearby? Yes.

Are we going to tell you what they are? Probably not, unless ChatGPT can provide the information.

Nearby spas include: Nurture Spa & Salon at Luxor; “Located within the Luxor Hotel, Nurture Spa & Salon offers a range of soothing massages, signature facials, and body treatments in a tranquil environment”; Spa Mandalay at Mandalay Bay, “This 30,000-square-foot world-class spa combines the best techniques and products with skilled professionals to usher you into a level of relaxation beyond your imagination”; Bathhouse Spa at W (formerly Delano); “Featuring steam rooms, saunas, and 12 treatment rooms, Bathhouse Spa offers massages, wraps, and facials in a serene setting”; The Spa at Four Seasons, “Offering five-star relaxation, The Spa at Four Seasons provides a tranquil sanctuary on the Strip with a variety of treatments”; The Spa at Vdara, “A luxurious escape, The Spa at Vdara is a Forbes Five-Star rated spa offering a range of treatments in a serene environment”; The Spa at Aria, “The largest Forbes Five-Star Spa in the world, offering a comprehensive menu of skincare and massage treatments in serene surroundings.”

We sincerely hope Casino.org does not figure out it could eliminate our absurdly generous remuneration by having ChatGPT write out stories.

Just a heads up, facial fans.

We would like it noted, for the record, ChatGPT is terrible at sexual innuendo. Or as we like to call it, “job security.”
