Embryo Wins 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event
A 22-year-old poker player, Lucas Jumalon, has been named World Champion at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Jumalon, who hails from Spokane, Washington, snagged a $10 million prize, along with a coveted WSOP championship bracelet.
Did we mention he’s 22? What will a 22-year-old do in Las Vegas with $10 million? Somebody should probably alert the strip clubs. Just saying.
We need to list all the players in the Main Event’s final nine for posterity: The final table featured Lucas Jumalon, Rami Hammoud, Jamie Shaevel, Greg Mueller, Michael Gagliano, Mario Boos, Lauri Saaskilahti, Han Feng and Evagoras Evagorou.
We are a noted gambling expert and we, like you, have never heard of any of these people.
This was not, as has been widely reported, a funny name convention.
The Main Event’s second-place finisher, Lauri Saaskilahti, received $6,000,000.
The WSOP tried to fake everyone out with the “Lauri” thing. He’s a dude. Yes, women play poker, too. They rarely make the Main Event final table because they have the ability to attract sexual partners and therefore have better things to do.
For the past several years, we have tried to convince the WSOP to make its bracelet more female-friendly, but our idea has fallen on deaf ears.
While 22 seems very young, Jumalon isn’t the youngest player to win the WSOP Main Event. Joe Cada, who won in 2009, was 21.
The 2026 WSOP Main Event was held at Paris and Horseshoe and drew 9,208 players. The $10,000 buy-in tournament generated a prize pool of $85,634,400.
