El Dorado Cantina Closes at Tivoli Village in Summerlin
Most of our stories are about items of interest to tourists, but here’s one for our locals: El Dorado Cantina has closed at Tivoli Village in Summerlin. Why are we writing about this? Mainly because we drove over there for a photo, and we are damned well going to post it.
El Dorado Cantina couldn’t reach a mutually acceptable rent agreement with Tivoli Village, so the restaurant pulled up stakes.
The restaurant has been one of just two draws at the Summerlin mall, the other being Al Solito Posto. Tivoli is sort of the off-Strip Neonopolis, all due respect.

That’s pretty much it. Look, not everything is a case study in “The Atlantic.”
While we never dined at El Dorado Cantina, we heard it did solid business despite the challenging location.
The closure announcement was made suddenly, so we hope the employees were treated well despite the sad turn of events.
The restaurant was owned by a private investment group led by Larry Rudolph, whoever that might actually be.
The restaurant was 6,200 square feet and accommodated 240 guests, many of whom were cougars shitfaced on margaritas.
If you’re dying for Mexican food, and why would you be, there’s another El Dorado Cantina next to the Sapphire strip club near Resorts World. Bummer, you have to visit a strip club to get your fajita fix now.
The company also operates The Cantina by El Dorado. It’s located on Sunset Road, just off I-215. That location has slot machines.
Tivoli Village hasn’t said what’s planned for the space, but finding mall tenants is tough at the moment, in part because demand has fragmented and gone omnichannel. There’s also capital constraints and risk aversion. No, we have no idea what those things are, but with us, what ChatGPT says, goes and A.I. just padded our story by dozens of words, so we aren’t complaining.
