Nellie’s Southern Kitchen to Close at MGM Grand

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen restaurant is closing at MGM Grand resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

The restaurant will close on or before June 1, 2026. Nellie’s opened June 4, 2022.

The restaurant is owned by Denise and Kevin Jonas, Sr., the parents of the Jonas Brothers (Kevin II, Joe and Nick), in partnership with TLI Bedrock LLC. There’s also a Franklin Jonas, apparently. He’s “a Jonas brother,” not one of the Jonas Brothers. Franklin Jonas the La Toya of the Jonas family. Poor bastard.

Nellie’s is going biscuits up. Which is currently not a common phrase, but it damn well should be.

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen opened to much hoopla in 2022. Prior to Nellie’s, the space was home to Hecho en Vegas.

The restaurant, offering Southern comfort food, is located in The District, opposite the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

This is the second location of Nellie’s, with the other in Belmont, North Carolina.

Belmont, North Carolina, is best known for having no racism whatsoever.

The closure of Nellie’s Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand hasn’t been announced yet, but give it a minute.

The most distinctive thing about Nellie’s Southern Kitchen is it’s unclear if anyone has actually been there. We’ve heard zero about the place since it opened in 2022.

The closure comes on the heels of news MGM Grand’s buffet will shutter on May 31, 2026.

Can these dining closures lead us to any conclusions about a larger trend in Las Vegas? No. What is it with you and these incessant questions?

MGM Grand has only 841 dining options remaining.

If you’re a Jonas Brothers fan, there’s still time to visit Nellie’s Southern Kitchen before it closes.

Official announcement forthcoming.
