Crush American Grill to Close at MGM Grand
Crush American Grill at MGM Grand will close its doors after service on Sep. 12, 2026, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the worst newspaper in America.
That’s the whole story, but you know we have some award-winning fluffery in store to help you avoid doing that annoying task your boss asked you to finish last week.
Crush opened at MGM Grand on Dec. 4, 2013, from restaurateurs Michael and Jenna Morton and their Morton Group.

Crush replaced Michael Mina’s short-lived Nobhill Tavern at MGM Grand. It was the Mortons’ third major concept at the time, following La Cave at Wynn and La Comida Downtown. La Comida was sold to Ryan Doherty’s Corner Bar Management on Oct. 27, 2022. La Comida is now La Mona Rosa.
Crush’s footprint was about 7,000 square feet, or about 1.5 NBA basketball courts or 2.5 tennis courts. The best things in life are compared to the size of sports venues, of course. If you laid down one million dollars in $1 bills, it would take up about 1.5 soccer fields, two American football fields or 139 racquetball courts.
We do not use the term “fluffery” lightly.

Anyway, Crush was divided into two different spaces: a garden-like “greenhouse” dining room and a white-brick, barrel-vaulted cellar.
The Crush menu evolved over the years, but settled into an approachable modern-American niche, serving steaks, seafood, pasta, wood-fired pizzas, cocktails and shareable dishes rather than trying to compete as another celebrity-chef yawnfest.
Crush ends its run at MGM Grand just short of hitting 13 years, a respectable lifespan by Las Vegas restaurant standards.
MGM Grand has not announced what will replace it.
Our vote is Italian. Our vote is always Italian. Yes, despite the fact that Wolfgang Puck’s place is 30 feet away. You can never have too much Italian.
