Skyfall Lounge Closes for Renovation at W Las Vegas
Skyfall, technically Skyfall Panoramic Bar and Lounge, at W has closed for a renovation.
The lounge temporarily closed on July 20, 2026. If all goes as planned, Skyfall will reopen on Oct. 4, 2026.
Skyfall has one of the best views in all of Las Vegas, so it deserves a little love.
That’s sort of the whole story, as we haven’t seen renderings of the refreshed Skyfall yet. We trust it will be immersive and interactive.
The official Web page for Skyfall says, “Skyfall is currently closed as we reimagine the experience with an exciting remodel. We’re elevating every detail to bring you an even more exceptional destination for handcrafted cocktails, breathtaking views, and unforgettable evenings. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. In the meantime, please visit one of our other nightlife venues.”
Sigh. MGM Resorts is spilling no beans yet.
Back in the day, the space was Mix Lounge atop THEhotel, a time when annoying names for Las Vegas things proliferated.
Remember Alain Ducasse’s Mix restaurant? Neither do we, which is why we meant that rhetorically.
THEhotel was renovated and rebranded as Delano in 2014. Mix lasted about another year.
Delano is one of the most mispronounced words in the history of Las Vegas and we trust Franklin Delano Roosevelt is pissed about that fact, wherever he might be.
Mix and Mix Lounge were replaced by Rivea and Skyfall Lounge in 2015.
Delano became W in 2024. Yes, we broke that story before it was announced, and thank you for bringing it up so we didn’t have to.
Skyfall survived the rebrand.
The views are stunning, so it really doesn’t matter too much what the place looks like.
It’s worth mentioning Skyfall has nothing to do with James Bond, although it does sort of evoke some cinematic grandeur, and the owners aren’t mad about the connection to the movie. Which was named “Skyfall.” Please try and keep up.
The Skyfall reference has to do with the sky falling around you, not things falling from the sky.
While we wait for the renovation’s completion, we can look to the MGM Resorts Web site for some alternatives to Skyfall: “Although Skyfall is not open at this time, we invite you to discover some of our other exceptional venues. Enjoy handcrafted cocktails and entertainment at Rhythm & Riffs, a sophisticated evening at Hazel, or the lively energy of Eyecandy. Your perfect night out awaits.”
We are fairly sure we’ve never heard of any of those places. What we do know is they aren’t at W Las Vegas, so make your way to Mandalay Bay for beverages. They definitely don’t have Skyfall’s view.
A renovated Skyfall will definitely motivate us to return to W, so expect an update when it reopens.
