Closure of Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Expected to Save Countless Lives

An immersive attraction, “The New Immersive Van Gogh: The Next Chapter” at The Shops at Crystals, will close on Jan. 31, 2026, saving countless lives.

That’s because the attraction was boring people to death.

When something is boring, people will sometimes say, “It’s like watching paint dry.” The Van Gogh attraction was worse. When paint dries, something is accomplished, something has been painted. This attraction’s only achievement was stealing precious minutes of life that guests will never get back, moments they could’ve better spent doing something, anything, else. Jabbing yourself in the face with a spork is more entertaining than this endless, mind-numbing money grab. Why they didn’t use that in their advertising, we will never know.

Somebody had to say it.

The Van Gogh exhibition, which consists of Van Gogh’s art being projected on walls, opened in the Lighthouse Artspace at The Shops at Crystals on September 15, 2021. The original name was “Immersive Van Gogh.”

The attraction struggled from day one, and at one point, they changed the name to “The New Immersive Van Gogh: The Next Chapter” in a last-ditch effort to stop the bleeding.

Things got so desperate that they tried doing yoga sessions in the space. Here’s the pitch: “Experience a transformative fusion of movement and masterpieces as you practice yoga surrounded by Vincent van Gogh’s iconic works, brought to life through stunning projections.”

Imagine trying to figure out something more boring than paintings projected on a wall. Oh, wait, how about paintings projected on a wall, but yoga!

We are not making this up.

Painful. Thankfully, the Van Gogh exhibit is about to be put out of everyone’s misery.

The Lighthouse Artspace has been home to a series of underwhelming offerings including Immersive Disney Animation and Immersive Nutcracker.

A live interactive show, “In Pour Taste: A Comedy Wine Tasting Experience,” is closing in the venue along with the Van Gogh exhibit.

There’s no word about what’s next for the Lighthouse Artspace, but there’s a 384% chance it will have “immersive” in the name.

Props to the folks involved for finding enough gullible tourists to keep the Van Gogh exhibit open for four years.

Your time and money are limited. Don’t waste them on clunkers like this.
