“Game of Thrones Dragons” Attraction Goes Down in Flames at Horseshoe, Strat Rumor Heats Up

Hopes for a lit “Game of Thrones Dragons” attraction at Horseshoe (formerly Bally’s) have been extinguished. Do our fellow youths still say “lit”? Things are still “fire,” right? “Straight fire”? Can “fire” be “turnt”? Let’s just go with “mad toasty” and call it a day.

The dragon-themed venue has been dormant since its announcement in 2022, but things may be heating up with rumors “Game of Thrones Dragons” could end up at Strat.

A Caesars Entertainment rep confirmed the deal is officially dead at Horseshoe, but Strat and its owner Golden Entertainment have yet to announce the attraction’s move to the north Strip resort.

This would bring a whole new meaning to “Scale the Strat.” Because dragons have scales.

Since the “Dragons” attraction was announced, we’d occasionally poke Caesars Entertainment about it. At one point, we were told, “They’re delaying it until every ounce of brand equity is gone.”

Ouch.

“Game of Thrones” ended its original run on HBO in May 2019, or approximately 350 years ago in pop culture years.

The reaction to the teaser for “Game of Thrones Dragons” was a smidge lukewarm, but there wasn’t much meat on the bone.

The Web site (live since 2022) for the attraction has a little video, no other details, no location and a splash page, which was sort of a red flag.

The crash and burn of the planned attraction at Horseshoe is annoying for several reasons: 1) Dragons are cool. 2) The surface parking lot (just outside the food court and former sportsbook, now a video arcade) has been closed for a year in anticipation of this attraction. Don’t get us started.

It wasn’t the size of it, it was the ease of use. And, yes, that’s what she said.

As mentioned, we’ve heard there are potential plans for “Game of Thrones Dragons” to move into Strat’s shuttered mall area.

We reached out to Strat, but they haven’t confirmed or denied the rumor it’s getting “Game of Thrones Dragons” yet.

We hate ruining surprises. Just hate it.

You’ll know more when we do.

Let’s get that surface parking lot back open, Horseshoe, thanks.
