- UNO Social Club at Palms doesn’t involve gambling
- Reports wrongly surfaced that UNO had become a real-money table game
- UNO is instead only marketing the game through social pop-up spaces
Las Vegas is famed for its table games like blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat, and … UNO? Not exactly.

Announced in May, the off-Strip Palms Casino Resort this week welcomes a lucky winner and their guests to the UNO Social Club. Billed as the “ultimate game-night destination,” the UNO Social Club features UNO table games with a dealer to shuffle and distribute the cards.
The UNO Social Club at Palms isn’t open to the public, nor is the casino offering UNO table games for betting on its gaming floor downstairs.
No UNO Gambling
The UNO Social Club marketing ploy has caused much confusion online. Various news outlets and social media accounts have erroneously reported that the Palms’ partnership with the popular American pastime game is being overhauled into a casino game. DraftKings even said on X that UNO tables were live in Las Vegas, which is entirely false.
The Palms and UNO pact is instead a promotional vehicle for the card game to allow one UNO fan to receive a three-night complimentary stay at the casino resort in an UNO-themed penthouse.
Numerous influencers were invited to check out the space this past weekend where they bowled, sipped on UNO-themed cocktails, and played the card game. Palms didn’t allow UNO players to stake money on the outcome of the games, as that would violate its Nevada gaming license since UNO isn’t an approved game.
One influencer, “itszuose,” an Instagram account for an individual named Kuyate Josh, who has 134K followers, said it was “a good thing there was no betting bc I would’ve lost a lot of money.”
While the UNO Social Club at Palms won’t be open to the public, as the winner of the UNO Social Club getaway will only get to enjoy the space this weekend from Friday, July 18, through Sunday, July 20, Mattel says UNO Social Clubs “will pop-up across the country later this years.” The pop-ups are planned for bars and venues” in major US cities.”
Mattel, Inc., the parent company of UNO that’s partnered with Palms for the marketing ploy, says the UNO Social Club includes three variants of the game derived from crazy eights.
UNO Golf will task players with shedding high cards but keeping lower-numbered cards. UNO Teams will allow pairs of players to compete against one another, but with special cards involved to shake things up. UNO Show ’em No Mercy has many additional cards with more consequential penalties “that will have players stacking, swapping, and drawing more cards than ever before.”
UNO History
UNO was developed by Merle Robbins in Reading, Ohio, in January 1971. A barber by day, Robbins sold the game to International Games a year later for $50K plus a 10-cent per game sale royalty. Mattel acquired International Games in 1992.
UNO is easy to learn and play, making it popular with both adults and kids. Each player is dealt seven cards, and the goal is to be the first player to shed their hand. When a player has only one card left, they must yell “UNO.”

You know Uno's ego will grow.
What a shame.
Yes, UNO is bringing an immersive Social Club experience to Las Vegas in July. Specifically, the Palms Casino Resort will host the first-ever UNO Social Club. This isn't a permanent venue, but a themed suite takeover with gaming tables, a bar, and even a bowling alley. Mattel is also running a contest for a chance to win a stay in the suite.
