Caesars Entertainment is expanding the at-home casino experience for online players in Michigan.

Caesars announced the launch of its live dealer studio in Michigan on Monday. In a partnership with Evolution AB, the Sweden-based live-dealer leader in regulated online gaming markets around the world, online casino players in the Great Lakes State utilizing the Caesars Palace, Horseshoe, and Caesars Sportsbook online casinos can now access Caesars-branded table games.
Caesars iGaming patrons in Michigan have the option to play blackjack, roulette, and baccarat tables branded with Caesars Palace and Tropicana felt. The live-dealer studio also plans to include felt co-branded with Caesars’ brands and Michigan’s professional sports teams, including the NFL Detroit Lions.
Caesars’ Michigan live-dealer table game studio is the third in the Las Vegas-based casino company’s portfolio following launches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Our third live-dealer studio expands our fully customized live dealer experience that is already extremely popular in Pennsylvania and New Jersey into another key jurisdiction where our online casino platforms are live,” said Matthew Sunderland, senior vice president and chief iGaming officer at Caesars Digital. “The studio design takes inspiration from our flagship destination, Caesars Palace, to authentically recreate the atmosphere of Las Vegas for online players.”
Caesars operates iGaming in four states, with West Virginia being the other jurisdiction.
Live-Dealer Privileges
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) authorized live-dealer table games for licensed iGaming platforms in July 2021. Evolution was the first licensed business-to-business live-dealer provider in the state.
Evolution streams online table games from its Southfield studio. Evolution provides live-dealer services to many iGaming platforms in Michigan, including DraftKings and FanDuel. Caesars’ new streaming studio with Evolution delivers a branded experience for Caesars Palace, Horseshoe, and Tropicana online gaming patrons. Live dealer brings the energy, chatter, and sounds to a remote player’s location that interactive slots and tables do not, Caesars reps said in a release.
In Michigan, Horseshoe is licensed online through a partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Caesars Palace Online Casino and Caesars Sportsbook are licensed through the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
Immersive Casino Experience
Caesars Entertainment’s live-dealer studio in Michigan brings the Caesars in-person casino experience home. Since Michigan only allows three commercial casinos in Detroit, and Caesars doesn’t hold one of the licenses, the company was forced to enter into a revenue-sharing agreement with the aforementioned tribes to secure online gaming and sports betting market access to the 10th-most populated state with more than 10.1 million people.
Through May, Caesars’ iGaming operations in Michigan have generated gross gaming revenue (GGR) of approximately $97.1 million. BetMGM is the market leader at $328 million, with FanDuel close behind at $326.1 million. DraftKings is a distant third at $189.9 million.
In terms of online sports betting, Caesars Sportsbook won less than $4.8 million in the first five months of the year. FanDuel dominates the Michigan online sports betting market with GGR of $120 million. DraftKings is a distant second at $67.4 million, and BetMGM is third at $32.3 million.
