Plaza Podcast Features Best Guest, Ever

It’s been a minute since we’ve done a podcast episode of our own, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t out there stirring stuff up on other podcasts.

We made a recent appearance on Plaza’s “On the Corner of Main Street” podcast despite the fact Plaza isn’t on a corner. Don’t get us started.

We chatted with Plaza CEO Jonathan Jossel and co-host Gary Vicary (Plaza’s Director of Hotel Operations) for a wide-ranging discussion of Las Vegas, and Amy Saunders (“Miss Behave’s Mavericks”) stopped by as well.

Reliably good ear food for Las Vegas gluttons.

If you’re not a podcast person, Plaza is now taping its episodes for YouTube.

Before you say it, we know we have a face for podcasting, you don’t have to rub it in.

Here’s the unshorn episode in question.

The episode covers a lot of ground, from how A.I. is expected to affect the casino business, the unexpected departure of CEO Alex Dixon from Resorts World, changes at Plaza, the best Las Vegas collectible in history (a Silver Strike token featuring O-69), whether scoop that may not pan out is still considered scoop, declining visitation numbers in Las Vegas, why WrestleMania is returning to Vegas, volunteering at the Animal Foundation, why the mayor’s announcement about “Circa 2” was premature and why the A’s aren’t coming to Las Vegas under the current ownership.

Plaza’s podcast is one of our favorite Las Vegas podcasts, and is the only show that features a CEO of a Las Vegas casino. Jossel does a great job of finding fascinating guests, us notwithstanding, and rarely shies away from touchy subjects. The show was named Best Podcast by the Las Vegas Weekly Awards, the awards that actually mean something, unlike those dopey Las Vegas Review-Journal Best of Las Vegas Awards. This is exactly the kind of incisive, controversial take that make us such a wonderful podcast guest! Actual results may vary.

We’re always honored to be on the show, and if you don’t care for our appearances, just keep it to yourself. Just see if your ears visit when you’re in a retirement home someday.
