Oyo Refreshes Its Petite Pool Complex

It’s pool season and Oyo is diving headlong into the splashy, scantily-clad fun with an overhaul of its diminutive but charming pool area.

The recently-remodeled space opens March 21, 2025.

Oyo says, the revamped pool complex “features lawn games, live DJs and refreshing cocktails, turning it from a hotel pool to a backyard party.” Yeah, it’s a hotel pool, but bless their hearts, they’re trying.

People-free pools are the best kind of pools.

Oyo’s pools are open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, with two pools “spanning more than a combined 2,600 square feet,” or about the size of a typical chef’s table at a restaurant on The Strip.

But this isn’t The Strip! It’s Oyo, just a minute east of Las Vegas Blvd. You can tell you’re at Oyo because you aren’t having a cardiac arrest at the prices.

Yes, you have to pay for parking at Oyo now, but they validate generously.

Lounge chairs at the pool are included with entry. Wild, right?

Access is free for hotel guests and Nevada residents, as well as Gold, Platinum and Black Diamond Oyo Rewards members. Out-of-state, non-hotel guests pay $15 to use the pool.

Vegas skies are blue, but not that blue. Thanks to Oyo for the pics, however.

More about Oyo’s refreshed pool area, “The recently remodeled outdoor space offers an oasis for basking in the summer rays, featuring an Astro Turf for lawn games, vibrant Palm Springs-inspired decor and a bold Vegas-themed mural celebrating local sports and gaming and the picturesque Red Rock Canyon. Poolside fun includes beer pong, cornhole and giant Jenga, turning the poolside retreat into a backyard bash. Just steps away, Splash Cantina will serve up frozen cocktails and domestic beers to keep the good vibes going all day long. Additionally, guests can order delicious eats from Steak ‘n Shake and Hooters, with the option to have it delivered poolside.”

Despite Hooters recently removing its video poker at Oyo, the wings are still strong.

Umbrellas put the “no” in melanoma.

The usual upgrades are available, of course. Couples and small groups can reserve daybeds, $50 Sunday through Thursday, $100 Friday and Saturday. Cabanas are available for $100 Sunday through Thursday, $200 on Friday and Saturday. Locals get a 50% discount on rentals. Worth noting: Food and beverage minimums are not required for rentals.

Tropicana’s demolition has created some opportunity for Oyo to use its pool area as a selling point, and while the investment doesn’t appear massive, we like the vibe from the photos and the values are undeniable when compared to pools and dayclubs on The Strip where the cocktails cost as much as the average Honda Accord.

Time to locate our Ab Roller and give Oyo’s newish pool area a turn.

We were going to say a “spin,” but a turn is a swimming term, thus cementing our reputation as a noted sports expert.
