MGM Rewards Ends Relationship With World of Hyatt
Two popular loyalty programs are getting a divorce. The partnership between MGM Rewards, from MGM Resorts, and World of Hyatt, from Hyatt Hotels, ends Sep. 30, 2023. The partnership has been in place since 2013.
According to Hyatt, “World of Hyatt members can receive a matched tier with MGM Rewards. MGM Rewards members enjoy exclusive benefits including discounts on rooms, shows and participating retail shops, plus pre-sale tickets to events, concerts, flights and more.” Now, not so much.
One of the biggest surprises about the dissolution of the relationship between MGM Rewards and World of Hyatt is how bored we are writing about it. Just three paragraphs in, bored out of our skull. We can’t imagine how bored you must be right now.
Seriously, who cares? Is this news even really Vegas-related?
Hyatt isn’t really a powerhouse chain, like Marriott or Hilton, but it’s a well-known chain and Hyatt has 15 brands under its corporate umbrella.

While tier matching into MGM Rewards is ending July 14, 2023; rest assured any existing matched status will remain in place through the date that status expires.
For any stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt members will no longer be able to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points at any MGM Rewards destinations, earn World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights or other benefits for stays at MGM Rewards destinations.
For any stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023, MGM Rewards members can no longer elect to earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits in lieu of World of Hyatt Base Points for qualifying nights at Hyatt hotels.
For any stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt Credit Card members will no longer be eligible to earn four (4) World of Hyatt Bonus Points per $1 spent at participating MGM destinations through the use of the World of Hyatt credit card.
Not only is that information boring, so are the Hyatt hotels in Las Vegas.
Hyatt Place Las Vegas and Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village are the options.
No gambling. No flair bartenders. No lap dancing. No interest.
There is a really good chance the copy for the Hyatt Place Las Vegas Web site was written by A.I.

If we ever jump off a tall building, that will be what’s written on the note pinned to our shirt.
You know it’s bad when “Cozy Corner Sofa in all guestrooms” is the most appealing part of a hotel’s amenities list.
Anyway, interesting or not, we are here to serve. Now you know the relationship between MGM Rewards and Hyatt is kaput.
There’s always more to the story, of course, but that would make this interesting and we can’t have that.
Oh, wait, Hyatt Regency Hong Kong opened in 1969. Also, rates at Hyatt Place Allentown start at $69. According to Wikipedia, Hyatt has hotels “in 69 countries across six continents.”
