Ace Dragon Wok Quietly Closes at TI After 45 Minutes of Operation
All right, we exaggerated to get your attention, but not by a lot.
Ace Dragon Wok has closed at Treasure Island, “TI” if you’re nasty.
Ace Dragon Wok opened on Sep. 1, 2025. It closed in January 2026. We are not a math person, but that’s five months of operation, a period of time that’s known in restaurant circles as “YIKES.”

Ace Dragon Wok was a Pan-Asian restaurant that replaced the Las Vegas Yacht Club.
The restaurant announced its closure on Instagram. Ace Dragon had 132 followers.
The message said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce our permanent closure as of today. We are truly grateful to all the friends we’ve met during our operations. We thank you all for your support.”
We missed this announcement because we rarely use Instagram, mostly because we spend most of our waking hours dealing with morons on Twitter. No, not everyone on Twitter is a moron. Many are also racist. There are also some very nice, intelligent people on Twitter. Good luck finding them in the midst of all the racisting and moroning.
The other day, we did a Tweet about Qantas starting direct service between Las Vegas and Australia. In that Tweet, we made a joke (through the use of a time-tested comedic device, exaggeration) about how long flights from Las Vegas to Australia will take.
This December, Qantas will become the first airline in the world to operate a non-stop route between Australia and Las Vegas. The new seasonal service will run through mid-March 2027. Flights will take roughly 120 hours each way.

We have spent the last 24 hours reading replies from travel experts who assure us the flight is not that long and we are a dolt for not doing more research. Mind you, the responses aren’t about whether it’s a good or bad joke. Most are from people who aren’t capable of telling it’s a joke. We are just relieved we didn’t hear from all the copy editors noting the extra space between “take” and “roughly.” We are all doomed.
Trust us, there are going to be people fact-checking our headline about Ace Dragon Wok being in operation only 45 minutes. Just watch.
Anyway, Ace Dragon Wok closed without explanation, so we will provide one: It failed. You’re welcome.
Many Las Vegas restaurants are: 1) undercapitalized, 2) terrible at marketing. Ace Dragon Wok appears to have been two for two.
Thanks to @gettoknowvegas for the tip about the closure of Ace Dragon Wok.
