Dolly Parton Cancels Las Vegas Shows Due to Health Problems

The legendary Dolly Parton has canceled her upcoming shows at Caesars Palace due to “health challenges.”

Yes, every other news outlet is saying her shows are “postponed” until Sept. 2026, but here we deal with reality. Dolly Parton is 79 and has said she will undergo “a few procedures.”

Even short residencies are challenging. Fingers crossed, but get used to disappointment.

As our fellow kids say, “Queen!”

Parton crushed all ticket sales expectations for her Colosseum residency, helped by the fact her shows overlapped with National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 4-13, 2025.

Parton’s original dates were Dec. 4, 6-7, 10, 12-13, 2025.

Here’s what Parton shared: “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

Dolly Parton’s self-deprecating humor has been a hallmark of her career.

Parton deftly sidestepped specifics of her health problems, but has had significant issues her entire life.

Parton has faced serious health challenges over the years, some of which she’s been open about, others she’s largely kept private. She struggled with endometriosis. She’s also had episodes of Bell’s palsy. She’s publicly acknowledged kidney stones.

Basically, time is an asshole.

If Parton were to return to Caesars, it would be in Sept. 2026. Specifically, Sept. 17, 19-20, 23, 25-26, 2026.

We love optimism. Las Vegas was built on optimism. However, we also love reality. Sometimes, reality bites.

Some irresponsible journalists continue to say Celine Dion is looking forward to another residency in Las Vegas. That’s simply not happening. She has a degenerative disease.

Dolly Parton sounds like she’s up for taking a break and getting back on that horse again. We’d love to see it happen. The over/under is nope.

Parton said, “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But I believe he is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

At this juncture, we would like to change our prediction about whether Dolly Parton will be back for a Las Vegas residency because we were not aware God is Dolly Parton’s business manager!

If God is taking time out of his busy schedule to advise Dolly Parton about retirement, can’t he swing fixing a couple of lady problems?

Back to reality.

Translation of Parton’s statement: These bills aren’t going to pay themselves.

Caesars has yet to announce who will fill Dolly Parton’s dates at the Colosseum, but her cancellation is a huge blow, financially. Parton would’ve drawn the perfect resort and casino customer. They not only spend money on tickets and merch, but also flood restaurants and bars and book lots of rooms.

We love us some Dolly Parton and wish her all the best for her medical procedures and recovery.
