Electric Mushroom Erects Eye-Catching Facade on Fremont East
Electric Mushroom—a new bar, restaurant and nightlife venue coming to the Fremont East Entertainment District—has quietly unveiled a distinctive facade featuring a bigass (wait for it) mushroom.
Let’s just say this ain’t your grandpa’s Fremont Street.
Electric Mushroom opens July 24, 2025 at 10 p.m. in the former Therapy space.

Therapy went out in a blaze of glory. For many years, it was a beloved restaurant, but then turned into a shitshow of a nightclub with all the associated problems of drugs and violence, for starters.
The co-owners of Electric Mushroom, Brad Hogeg and Zak Jordan, are well aware of the reputation of the former venue and are committed to not making the same mistakes all over again.
That means different music to appeal to a different demographic and ample security, among other changes.
The interior of Electric Mushroom is largely the same, with a bar, dining area, dance floor and upper deck perfect for private events.

Electric Mushroom should dovetail nicely into the Fremont Street Entertainment District, already filled with hoppable bars and lounges and places to drink and listen to loud music, all due respect.
The neighborhood has been shaped largely by Ryan Doherty, who understands the need for cohesion and a reason for people to visit (since there’s only one casino, El Cortez, and no massive digital screen above the street).
Doherty operates Commonwealth, Park on Fremont, Discopussy, Lucky Day, We All Scream, Cheapshot and La Mona Rosa. It’s a whole thing.
Electric Mushroom’s Instagram account is already showing off one of the venue’s selling points, attractive women. They’re the reason people get bottle service, which is a big revenue driver for nightlife spots.
As we wandered by Electric Mushroom, we bumped into Brad Hogeg, who said he follows us on Twitter, which made him very likeable and it’s one of the reasons we’re predicting great success for this endeavor. Big thanks to Brad for letting us get a peek inside Electric Mushroom to check out this work-in-progress.

Fremont East has always had a personality all its own. A diamond in the rough, but mostly that second thing. Rough.
Fremont East attracts more locals than tourists, in contrast to Fremont Street Experience.

Zappos mogul Tony Hsieh helped several businesses open on Fremont East, but after his death, those rent subsidies went away and a number of bars and restaurants have closed.
Doherty has been a passionate advocate of downtown and has made Fremont East a destination.
Electric Mushroom should fit right in.
