Eatwell Closes at Cromwell as Vanderpump Rebrand Looms

The fast casual walk-up counter dining concept (for our fellow youths, “snack bar”) at Cromwell, Eatwell, has closed.

Business levels at the grab-and-go Eatwell have suffered since the acts of grabbing and going, especially in combination and in that order, now have a very negative connotation in popular culture.

That is probably not the reason Eatwell closed, but that doesn’t change the fact it has closed and leaves Giada as Cromwell’s only food option. If you like Giada, you should visit while you can, if you get our drift. Cromwell becomes Vanderpump Hotel in early 2026 and divas are natural enemies in the wild, all due respect.

They were going to call it EatWhateverYouWantYou’reOnVacation, but that name wouldn’t fit on the business cards.

Eatwell opened at Cromwell in 2017, yet another reminder we have been doing this far, far too long.

Before it was Cromwell, the casino was called Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall.

Before that, it was Barbary Coast.

Before that, it was Empey’s Desert Villa.

For a minute, they were going to call it Gansevoort until executives realized they were about to name a casino on the Las Vegas Strip after the sound of a sumo wrestler sitting on a Canadian goose.

Eatwell came in handy for breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, tacos and sweets.

We assume there’s a shake-up in the making as Cromwell transitions to Vanderpump, with each part of the casino being evaluated for how it may or may not fit into the rebranded hotel.

We hear Giada’s recent visit to her namesake restaurant (it’s a licensing deal, Caesars Entertainment operates it and Giada De Laurentiis gets 5% of the restaurant’s gross) was tense. Apparently, she didn’t interact with staff as she normally does. She held a book signing, but didn’t really do her usual (contractually required) photo ops.

Basically, there were more red flags than in Pyongyang.

If you didn’t think that was a funny joke, it’s probably because you went to public school and don’t know Pyongyang is in North Korea. Shame on you. We knew this off the top of our head and by that we mean we asked ChatGPT, “Where is a place with a lot of red flags that’s not Tiananmen Square because we’ve used that reference before?”

Anyway, Eatwell is done and good luck with those drunchies because Giada’s closes at 9:45 p.m.

First word of the Eatwell closure was shared by the Las Vegas Then and Now Facebook page.
