Laugh Factory Makes Las Vegas Return at Horseshoe

Las Vegas has an abundance of stand-up comedy, but a renowned comedy brand believes it can stomach a little more.

Laugh Factory is back and will open at Horseshoe Las Vegas in February of 2026.

The Laugh Factory brand has been MIA in Las Vegas since Tropicana closed and was imploded to build an imaginary new resort and unfunded ballpark. Don’t get us started. The laughs are back at Horseshoe, formerly Bally’s, formerly MGM Grand. There will be a quiz.

Q. How many comedians does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A. One, but only after they complain about how Matt Rife doesn’t have an act and “exposure” isn’t payment and screw the hack who runs the light and lectures everyone about respecting the craft.

Before Tropicana closed, Laugh Factory had a 12-year run at the struggling resort. If an entertainment venue could survive a Trop, it can survive anywhere.

When Laugh Factory opens at Horseshoe, the resort’s 250-seat Imagine Showroom will be renamed Laugh Factory Las Vegas Theater.

The theater is also home to Paranormal Mind Reading Magic (featuring mentalist Frederic Da Silva) and “Potted Potter.”

Dipping their toes back into the Las Vegas comedy scene is a bold move by Laugh Factory. Mid-tier shows are being brutalized by the Sphere, superstar headliners and sports. And that was before 2025’s visitation dip. Discretionary dollars aren’t unlimited.

There’s a strong case to be made that the Las Vegas Strip has reached, or passed, a saturation point for stand-up comedy. Comedy is sort of everywhere, all the time.

Rising ticket and drink prices, irksome fees, paid parking, it all contributes to the challenges facing comedy (and other mid-tier) entertainment offerings.

There’s Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club at Linq, Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at MGM Grand, the Las Vegas Live Comedy Club at Miracle Mile Shops, L.A. Comedy Club at Strat, Stars of Comedy at Harrah’s, Wiseguys Las Vegas at Town Square and more.

And those are just the traditional stand-up venues. There are lots of comedian headliners (including the top of the resident comedian heap, Carrot Top) and shows featuring comedy, like Piff the Magic Dragon, Penn & Teller, Mac King, Marc Savard Comedy-Hypnosis, Blue Man Group and many others.

All that said, Laugh Factory has great brand recognition, nearly 50 years of history and a roster of top-notch talent, which makes it a stand-up standout.

To kick off the new comedy club, comedian Bret Ernst, known for his work on the hit Netflix show “Cobra Kai” (weird comedy credit, bro) will headline Laugh Factory’s soft opening weekend (Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, 2026) with two shows nightly in a classic comedy club three-person lineup of headliner, feature act and host.

Then for the official grand opening weekend, comedian Concrete (Cristian Gutierrez) will take the stage for a mini-residency, Feb. 12-15, 2026.

Look, it doesn’t matter if you know who these comedians are. You’re drunk in Las Vegas. Comedy is a surefire way to kill time and unpucker your starfish while you figure out which terrible life decision comes next.

Housekeeping: Laugh Factory at Horseshoe will operate Monday through Sunday with two shows nightly at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m., with additional special event headliner residencies Thursday through Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $37.95 plus tax and the aforementioned fees that make everything less funny so let’s get rid of those, shan’t we?
