Las Vegas Blogger Shares Recent Media Appearances to Avoid Doing Actual Work
What a time to be alive! There’s so much content out there and so many ways to ingest it.
Blogs are just one means from which to suck the marrow of Las Vegas, others include podcasts and vlogs and live streams and podcasts that are posted on YouTube which sort of makes them vlogs but not really, although it all sort of blurs together unless you have our gentle hand to guide you through this vast cavalcade of Las Vegas news and information and run-on sentences.
Here, then, are some of our recent media appearances, all of which are wildly fascinating, actual results may vary.

“Las Vegas is dead” is a common refrain recently. Like many refrains, this one is idiotic.
Las Vegas isn’t dead. It’s having a moment, though.
We were honored to be asked on the City Cast podcast to discuss whether or not Las Vegas is dead.
Here’s the description from the episode, which will help fluff up this story even further: “Las Vegas is at the center of a growing national narrative, one filled with dramatic headlines, viral outrage and talk of economic decline. Co-host Dayvid Figler sits down with Scott Roeben of Vital Vegas to separate fact from frenzy. Is the Strip really struggling, or is this just a case of exaggerated doom and gloom? From falling visitor numbers and pricey margaritas to corporate missteps and political noise, we unpack what’s really going on behind the scenes, and what it means for the city’s future.
You can listen via the embedded player below or visit the City Cast Web site. Just scroll down to the “Is Vegas Really Dead” episode unless something else catches your eye.
Our belated congratulations go out to Dayvid Figler and the City Cast team for being named “Best Las Vegas Podcast” in Las Vegas Weekly’s “Best of Vegas” awards for 2025. It’s weird to give an award away for a given year when the year is only half done, but it’s not like we’re suddenly going to start doing our podcast again, so they can have the damn thing.
On a related subject, we were asked why we weren’t selling “Vegas is dead” merch. We are nothing if not accommodating.

In addition to that fascinating interview, we also appeared on the Las Vegas Advisor show. See, by saying “show” we sidestepped having to determine if it is a vlog, a podcast or whatever our fellow youths are calling such productions now.
Our interview was so enthralling (rambling), the show had two parts.
This is the first time the Las Vegas Advisor YouTube vlog podcast extravaganza has had a two-parter, mostly because if they edited anything we said, we would start a feud and Anthony Curtis (the O.G. of Las Vegas content) would have us whacked.
Despite evidence to the contrary, this story isn’t really about us. It’s about the abundance of content about Las Vegas, brought to us by people who simply love the town.
One of those people is Laci McCarty, known as “Las Vegas Gal,” a Las Vegas realtor and prolific content creator.
We have known Laci since about 1975, and she bravely invited us to take part in our first livestream. For the record, all interviews should have dogs. Laci’s dog Baxter should probably have his own show.
Our sincere appreciation goes out to all these shows for having us on.
We are always available for interviews online and off, in zines, short-form video, documentary miniseries, video essays, audiobooks, webinars, VR/AR experiences and other ways we can blather endlessly about how the A’s ballpark is a scam, Las Vegas isn’t dead and how fat birds got after that grasshopper invasion a few years ago.
And by “always available,” of course, we mean we aren’t shaving or putting on pants.
