For the Win Burgers, Tacos 1986 and Caesars Sportsbook Open at The Resort at Summerlin
Our blog tends to focus on the part of Las Vegas that appeals to tourists, but in this case, an off-Strip casino now has some of the best burgers in town, so we’re talking about it.
Two new food court (sorry, Neighborhood Food Hall) offerings, For the Win and Tacos 1986, just opened at The Resort at Summerlin, which was previously called Rampart Casino or possibly J.W. Marriott. We call it “The Casino Next to Suncoast” and people usually know what we’re talking about.
Also just opened, a Caesars Sportsbook. We care infinitely more about tacos and burgers than sportsball, but due to our unflagging devotion to the Rule of Three, we needed another thing to include in our story, so there you have it.

The Rule of Three is one of the oldest and most reliable principles in comedy, rhetoric, storytelling and blogging. It means that things presented in threes are funnier, more satisfying and easier to remember than other groupings.
Humans are pattern-detecting machines. Two points only suggest a relationship. Three points confirm a pattern. Research on working memory shows people prefer information delivered in small “chunks.” Three is often considered the smallest unit that feels complete but not overwhelming.
Small chunks, by the way, are those things that you throw up when you hear Zowie Bowie has been booked in the Red Rock showroom for some inexplicable reason.
Anyway, while other, lamer blogs, “save the best for last,” we will share it first.
For the Win may have an awkward name editorially, but the burgers are so good, who gives a damn?
Here’s a perfunctory blurb from the news release: “A Southern California staple since 2020, For The Win has earned a devoted fanbase through its uncompromising focus on quality, simplicity and craftsmanship. Its signature smash burger features a high-quality patty smashed thin with grilled onions, topped with pickles and the restaurant’s signature fry sauce, all served on a toasted Martin’s potato bun.”
We hate onions. We first asked to have the onions taken off our burger, but knew that would change the flavor, so we allowed them to be smashed, and we’re glad we did. (Cheese would’ve mucked with it too much, so we passed.)
The whole WTF burger was delicious. Yes, the patty hangs over the bun. Yes, the fries are fine but not memorable. But overall, just a surprisingly good destination burger. Props to you, whoever owns The Resort at Summerlin, possibly Hotspur Resorts, whatever that might be.

Let’s explore the news release further: “The new For The Win in Summerlin will mirror the popular Los Angeles menu, offering a mouthwatering lineup of high-quality sandwiches, including the Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Grilled Cheese and Veggie Burger. Guests can expect a variety of signature sides, including golden, thin-cut fries; deep-fried sweet potato fries; loaded fries topped with grilled onions, two slices of melted American cheese and house fry sauce; and crispy Balsamic Brussel Sprouts, deep-fried in beef tallow and finished with balsamic vinegar and lemon juice.”
Hells, yes, they’re loaded fries, they’re in Vegas, baby.

Anyway, the prices aren’t terrible, so For the Win is well worth a try if you find yourself in Rampart Casino for some reason, probably out of your need to feel young again.

Next up, Tacos 1986.
Officially: “A Los Angeles institution since 2018, Tacos 1986 has built a devoted following by elevating the traditional Tijuana-style taco with hand-made corn tortillas, fresh ingredients, and bold flavors. The new Summerlin location will stay true to its roots with a standing-room-only, counter service layout, recreating the sights, sounds and aromas of a classic L.A. street-taco stand.”
Yes, we took out the Oxford commas. This is our blog and we’ll do whatever we want. If we wanted to use an apostrophe in “Caesar’s Palace,” we could do that. We wouldn’t, because that should be punishable by beheading, but we could.
The tacos at 1986 were perfectly fine. Honestly, the best taco isn’t as good as the worst slice of pizza, but that is neither here nor there. They were completely passable.

Here’s more about Tacos 1986, mainly to fluff up our word count so Casino.org will think we’ve been working our ass off over here rather than spending two hours at The Resort at Summerlin because there’s an amazing little patio area just outside For the Win that warmed our cockles: “The Tacos 1986 menu is built on a combination of grilled meat layered in handmade corn tortillas, fresh onion, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa. Guests can choose between flame-grilled Carne Asada and Pollo Asado, thinly sliced Adobada pork cooked on a traditional trompo and the famous Hongo Mushroom Vegan Tacos. Guests can enjoy the brand’s full lineup of taco styles, including its signature Perrones, featuring a made-in-house flour tortilla, melted cheese and your choice of meat topped with pinto beans, Mulitas, a hybrid of the taco and quesadilla, Vampiros, a mix between a tostada and quesadilla, Tacos 1986’s version of a Crunchy Taco, and delicious quesadillas.”

Here’s how we ordered, for full disclosure.

Both of these new offerings are far better than they need to be, and The Resort at Summerlin suddenly finds itself with an embarrassment of riches with its dining options.
Nearby by are Ai Pazzi Pizza and Nom Wah, not to mention a strong, old-school casino buffet, Market Place Buffet.
The Neighborhood Food Hall is on the opposite side of the casino from the self-parking garage.
On your way to For the Win, you can stop by the newly-rebranded Caesars Sportsbook.
Sportsbooks don’t contribute much to a casino’s bottom line, but it’s a place for sports lovers to gather and smack each other’s butts and mansplain and at least it’s a small step up from talking about the weather.
Here are some words: “Designed to deliver an immersive game day experience, the nearly 6,000-square-foot sportsbook currently features a new video wall and will add a cutting-edge 360-degree LED video display at the expanded sportsbook bar, scheduled for completion ahead of summer 2026.”
Whatever.

Is it weird a Caesars Sportsbook would be in a casino not owned by Caesars Entertainment? Of course it is.
That said, there’s also a Caesars Sportsbook at Downtown Grand.
Circa Sports is at the Silverton and Tuscany.
MGM Resorts’ BetMGM sportsbooks tend to stick to casinos owned by MGM Resorts (except for a few tribal and regional casinos that don’t directly compete with MGM Resorts).
Rampart’s sportsbook was previously operated by William Hill. Then Caesars acquired William Hill and it’s complicated. We’d delve further into this fascinating subject but we’d just end up cutting ourself and it’s incredibly difficult to get blood out of a computer keyboard.
Big props to The Resort at Summerlin for fleshing out its dining offerings, with a little something for everyone.
All the major cuisines are covered now, and For the Win is going into our regular burger rotation.
If you’re mainly a Strip person, this petite casino in Summerlin may not find its way to your Las Vegas agenda, but for locals, these new venues provide additional reasons to go.
That and the carpeting.

Because The Resort at Summerlin doesn’t play by society’s rules.
