Confirmed: Drai’s Beachclub and Nightclub to Close at Cromwell

A controversial rooftop nightclub and beach club, Drai’s, has confirmed a rumor we shared back in July: It’s closing on Oct. 31, 2025. Thankfully.

We knew the clock was ticking on the venue because no executive contracts were extended, no contractor or vendor agreements were signed and no artist residencies were inked for 2026. The closure coincides with plans for a planned rebrand of Cromwell to Vanderpump Hotel.

Drai’s Nightclub isn’t done, however. It reopens in the hotel’s basement on Nov. 2, 2025.

One fewer dayclub is a big win for everyone.

When we first shared news Drai’s would close, we were told it would be temporary, which is technically true given that the nightclub is moving downstairs.

At the time we shared the news, the Caesars Entertainment buyout of Drai’s upstairs venue was pending.

The subtext of the buyout and closure is the rowdy venue isn’t a great fit for Cromwell and would be even more awkward at Vanderpump, which is likely to go for a classier clientele.

Drai’s is rough. It has the most sexual assaulty vibe of any day club we’ve ever been to. It’s loud and hotel guests frequently complain about the volume. The sketchy nature of the crowd drives off valuable customers, gamblers.

One of the more high-profile incidents at Drai’s was when New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and his asshat friends beat the living hell out of victim Darnell Greene.

The police spend more time at Drai’s than they do at Dunkin.

Apparently, Caesars can’t get rid of Drai’s entirely, so moving it back into the basement is the next best thing.

Publicly, Drai’s is saying the Vanderpump rebrand had nothing to do with the decision to close the rooftop venue.  That, as our fellow kids say, horseshit.

Vanderpump Hotel’s rooftop pool will be operated by Caesars Entertainment as a traditional resort pool, with a new name, in 2026.

Possible names: Pump & Splash, The Pump Deck, Pump & Circumstance, Pumpfinity Pool, The Money Pump, Pumptopia, The Shallow End, Champagne Oasis, Pump & Plunge, Pump & Grind, Maximum Pumpage Pool, V.I.P. (Very Important Pump) and…scene.

Caesars Entertainment hasn’t spilled too many beans about what the Vanderpump rebrand will entail, but we’re pretty sure there will be lots of flowers and tacky-opulent decor flourishes.

The surname Vanderpump comes from the Netherlands, derived from the Dutch words “van der” (“from the”) and “pomp” (meaning “pump”). In a way, aren’t we all Vanderpumps?

Our money’s on Giada not making the transition.

Why is Caesars rebranding Cromwell to Vanderpump? Let’s just say her other branded lounges are printing money. They are Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump a Paris at Paris Las Vegas and Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo.

Buying out Drai’s cost Caesars a pretty penny, but sometimes even big companies make smart decisions. After all, Caesars took a big financial hit by terminating its agreements with timeshare companies because customers complained aggressive sales pitches tainted their resort experience.

Drai’s Beachclub and Nightclub was a liability for Caesars, not just financially, but it was also a blemish on the company’s reputation. Like Bobby’s Burgers, but with more twerking.
