The developers behind a “Top Gun” attraction coming to Las Vegas have changed course a smidge.<\/p>\n

Originally announced for a site across from Strat, Top Gun Vegas will now be located on a 2.48-acre site next to the Pinball Hall of Fame, just south of Mandalay Bay.<\/p>\n

The attraction was announced back in May of 2025<\/a> and is scheduled to open in 2028. You are not alone in wondering, “Is anyone clamoring for this?” You are also not alone in thinking it’s been a slow news week. We shall endeavor to persevere.<\/p>\n

It seems Paramount hasn’t yet accomplished its mission to extract every last nickel from “Top Gun.”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The previously announced location didn’t bode well for Top Gun Vegas. The new location isn’t much of an improvement, bodingwise.<\/p>\n

The folks involved with the project, Advent Allen Entertainment, are downright giddy about Top Gun Vegas, however.<\/p>\n

Here are some words from the news release: “Top Gun Vegas will transform the legendary Top Gun brand into a next-generation entertainment destination celebrating the enduring values of excellence, teamwork, courage, competition, and the exhilaration of flight that have captivated audiences around the world for nearly four decades. The destination will feature the Hard Deck restaurant and bar featured in ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ immersive attractions, experiential dining and retail, and a collection of interactive experiences designed to place guests at the center of one of the world’s most beloved cinematic universes.”<\/p>\n

Hey, it’s public relations, it doesn’t have to be reality-based.<\/p>\n

Here’s the best part: “Located at 4815 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2.48-acre development site occupies one of the most prominent locations on the Las Vegas Strip.”<\/p>\n

Seriously, this is only “one of the most prominent locations on the Las Vegas Strip” if “prominent” is measured in “blight.”<\/p>\n

There’s an argument to be made the Las Vegas Strip ends at Mandalay Bay, so this is neither prominent nor on The Strip.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It gets even better: “Fronting directly on Las Vegas Boulevard, the property backs onto Harry Reid International Airport, creating a dramatic aviation backdrop that perfectly complements the project’s Hangar 2-inspired architecture and design. The site is located just north of the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and near the new Las Vegas Athletics ballpark currently under construction. Positioned within one of the nation’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment districts, the property is also near a proposed site of a future NBA arena, further reinforcing the area’s emergence as Las Vegas’ newest entertainment corridor.”<\/p>\n

They got the Las Vegas sign part right, but the alleged A’s ballpark is more than a mile away. Touting a location near a proposed NBA arena is a stretch, especially given the project they’re talking about isn’t happening.<\/p>\n

Anticipate a buffet of news and updates about this project moving forward, if it indeed moves forward.<\/p>\n

According to the news release: “New details surrounding Top Gun Vegas\u2014including first-look renderings, groundbreaking attractions, immersive experiences, key development milestones, and additional elements of the destination\u2014will be unveiled as the project continues to take shape, building anticipation for what promises to become one of the most exciting new entertainment destinations on the Las Vegas Strip.”<\/p>\n

While it might seem appealing to operate an award-winning Las Vegas blog, please remember that this is the kind of linguistic vapor we endure each and every day so you don’t have to.<\/p>\n
