Caesars Entertainment and Westgate resort have announced a new partnership where Caesars Sportsbook will operate Westgate SuperBook and it feels like the sportsball betting version of “Inception.”<\/p>\n

Sportsbooks are not in our wheelhouse, but this story has a quirky twist, so we’re taking a stab at it.<\/p>\n

It’s a growing trend for casinos to invite in “competitors” to operate their sportsbooks, because honestly, operating your own is a pain in the ass. Yes, that’s the technical term.<\/p>\n

Here’s what Caesars and Westgate say about the new partnership: “The partnership brings together the SuperBook’s storied legacy and expansive footprint with Caesars Sportsbook’s platform and market-leading sports betting menu, creating a next-generation sports wagering experience. Widely recognized as one of the largest and best sportsbook viewing experiences in the world, the Westgate SuperBook has long set the standard in Las Vegas for scale, atmosphere, and immersive sports viewing.”<\/p>\n

They aren’t exaggerating about the “scale” thing. Circa claims to have the biggest sportsbook in the world, but we’re pretty sure the Westgate SuperBook would disagree.<\/p>\n

The name of the Westgate SuperBook won’t change. The new arrangement will be “Westgate SuperBook, powered by Caesars Sportsbook.”<\/p>\n

Caesars Sportsbook will take the reins of Westgate’s sportsbook “prior to football season.” Yes, we had to look it up, but preseason is in August, the regular season starts in September.<\/p>\n

There were more words in the announcement: “As part of the enhanced experience, sports fans will enjoy Same Game Parlays, expanded parlay offerings, and live in‑play wagering across a wide range of professional and collegiate sports, both in-person and on the Caesars Sportsbook app. Additionally, Caesars Sportsbook will introduce self‑service betting kiosks inside the SuperBook and throughout the resort, providing faster, round-the-clock access to wagering. Guests will be able to complete in‑person registration for the Caesars Sportsbook app while on property and also seamlessly use their account and manage funds seamlessly across the platform’s Universal Digital Wallet in participating markets for convenient deposits and withdrawals.”<\/p>\n

While sportsbooks don’t add much to a casino’s bottom line, they are a popular amenity because guests demand a place to mansplain.<\/p>\n
