The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has released its schedule for 2026 and we can’t think of anything snarky to say about it other than it’s a bunch of dudes vying for bracelets, which is adorable.<\/p>\n

The World Series of Poker runs from May 26 to July 15, 2026, at Horseshoe and Paris on the Las Vegas Strip.<\/p>\n

Here’s the full schedule<\/a> for the 57th installment of the World Series of Poker.<\/p>\n

Yes, that’s the whole story, but far be it from us to let sleeping dogs lie.<\/p>\n

There are items of interest to be cut and pasted!<\/p>\n

For example, “The excitement begins on May 26 with a revamped lineup designed to maintain the momentum of 2025’s record-breaking season, which saw GGPoker ambassador Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi capture the Main Event title and a $10,000,000 top prize.”<\/p>\n

That’s right. People can win $10 million from playing poker. Yes, it costs $10,000 to enter, but that’s beside the point. Or possibly “besides.” We are not in a “proofreading” or “knowing English” or “looking things up” mood right now. We are in a mood to share fun facts about the WSOP!<\/p>\n

The most interesting fact we can think of is the WSOP was owned by Caesars Entertainment, but they sold it.<\/p>\n

They sold the brand<\/a> to NSUS Group for $500 million, with $250 million cash up front and another $250 million due in 2029, the same year we’ll all have flying cars and robot girlfriends.<\/p>\n

If NSUS Group doesn’t sound familiar, that’s because nobody has ever heard of it except for people who get Christmas cards from them every year.<\/p>\n

Caesars Entertainment retained the rights to host the WSOP live tournament for the next 20 years.<\/p>\n

That one time at the WSOP when we wrangled a photo of actual dogs playing poker.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

But back to some highlights!<\/p>\n

The WSOP is made up of dozens of tournaments (as mentioned, there will be 100 bracelets given out to winners this year) with impressive-sounding names like Monster Stack No-Limit Holdem, Colossus No-Limit Holdem, Millionaire Maker No-Limit Holdem and Mystery Millions.<\/p>\n

There is a Super High Roller No-Limit Holdem event with a $250,000 buy-in (cost to enter). Hey, you’re either serious about poker or you aren’t.<\/p>\n

The aforementioned “Main Event,” is the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship. This year’s Main Event starts July 2, 2026. That tournament is a real nail-biter that lasts longer than the gestation period of your typical Nubian giraffe.<\/p>\n

While the number of poker rooms has dwindled at Las Vegas casinos in recent years (poker rooms don’t generate a lot of revenue), there’s still a good deal of interest in the WSOP.<\/p>\n

The Main Event in 2025 had the event’s third-highest level of participation (9,735 entries) in WSOP history.<\/p>\n

Women remain underrepresented in this male-dominated realm. Women account for fewer than 5% of those taking part in the WSOP, mainly because they don’t want to spend all that time around poker players.<\/p>\n

We plan on entering the Main Event of the 2026 WSOP, assuming we hit quad aces with a kicker on Double Double Bonus video poker at $25 a hand, the odds of which are about as good as Carrot Top dyeing his hair blue.<\/p>\n

You still have time to brush up on your poker skills and enter the WSOP! It’s a game of skill, but luck still plays a big part. There’s a reason so few Main Event champs ever repeat the feat.<\/p>\n
